- Don't call it a comeback. Tap into the latest episode of The Shop with Lena Waithe, Mo Gilligan, Trent Williams, Teddy Swims and the legendary LL COOL J.
PR and Maverick talk to Lena about the impact and authenticity of her show The Chi, her approach to writing and evolving as a creative. LL walks the crew through what led to and inspired his upcoming album, produced by Q-Tip, and longevity in Hip-Hop. Trent opens up about his cancer diagnosis, how that changed his approach to life and the experience of making it to the Super Bowl. Mo tells hilarious stories from his stand-up appearances and coming up in South London. Teddy talks about how covering classic songs led to his blowing up on social media and breaks down his genre-less style of music.
We got to A LOT this time around!

The advice from LL to Lena was priceless, please don't end The Chi anytime soon, it can go on like the soaps and I will continue to watch it.
I love that LL is keeping it 100% Authentic and honest and being real. In a world full of people who are afraid to give there honest opinion with out fear, to watch a successful, confident, humble man who is sure about who he is as a human being is a breath of fresh air. I love this episode.

I'm so happy to see Mo ❤. As a British, The Shop is my little Black US secret so I'm both surprised and proud of our Mo G 😊. His Agent must be Top Drawer.
What part of uk you from. Ive been to Nottingham a few times
Trent Williams’s story is amazing. So glad he’s here to tell it. God bless him. 🙏
He said “how old was Picasso when he did his best work?” LL’s words are deep. I felt that shit. And everything he said after that. He’s GOAT.
Goat of wut?? Lol
LL really got me wanting to run through a wall. I can do anything!

Thank you, Mr. Williams, for sharing your incredible story. I hope men, especially Black, pay close heed. Do regular check-ups & exams, and get second and third opinions. Do not put your health and wellness on the back burner.

I stand with LL. " whAts your favorite song???" Lol
A free style he did In the 80s called fine line
@@ared5224 lol. I was talking about lena's favorite song off Andre 3000 flute album
LL was dropping jewels!!!
LL is right, the CHI has been dope. So much room to continue and grow. Shouldn’t feel like it’s been on too long yet. All love either way
I am really enjoying this show. Y'all speaking from the heart and being real. LL Cool J, you are so encouraging and inspiring which is a blessing to see. Lena you are a great writer and your films are amazing keep up the good work. Y'all just keep doing well. We need y'all.
Lena is brilliant. A needed voice and super sharp. LL's an OG (among the greats no doubt. Love his music) - but his path / opinion is different and that's.. his. Trust your gut / skill with the choices Lena (The Chi and beyond, trust the hunch about the Chi ending. Smart.). And thank you for Queen and Slim! Huge fan of Andre 3k too and he can play as many flutes as he wants man! He doesn't need to be the greatest flute player ever, his efforts bring meaning and joy (no matter to how many) ..and that's good enough.
The freestyle he gave was legendary… Jesus
LL is a true icon bruh and lena is a beast i love ths Chi one my favorites
This is a true LL master class!!! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

All the seasons of The Shop are a learning experience. What the guests bring to the table there’s always add to my tool belt at 65. The inspirational and creative moments that have me sharing with my adult children and on social media
I'm old school and I still don't think LL gets his props. At one time LL was the biggest rapper out. He actually had the rap game in a choke hold. He was the epitome of The GOAT 🐐
Hi from Ontario Canada, I love this show we learn from the show
what a beautiful epi- blessings to you Trent
What a amazing and funny episode it was a little bit of everything just like a actual barbershop. The Trent cancer story got me, just hearing and seeing the reaction of the nurse getting ready to tier up after getting the news to not to focus on football and focus on spending time with ur daughter's and making sure all your affairs are good because you don't have alot of time left got emotional 🥺But Gob Bless you that u are doing good now.
LL talking about the flute was killing Mo! 🤣🤣🤣
Very thoughtful as per usual ❤😊.
THE BLESSING IS WAKING UP EVERYDAY

I was just listening to Big Daddy Kane the other day...saying his bars are still 🔥
Yo Andre's album was tough.... he's an artist. It's art.
He Def an artist and a legend...but that album was NOT tough Lol
LL kept it real we wanted Bars from Andre 3000
Let 3Stacks do what we wants. He solidified himself in the rap game already (Top 1 imo). A straight GOAT 👑👑

Andre 3000 with the flute is MJ with Baseball lol
I would have never thought LL Cool J to be an introvert.I am a introvert as well.

LL said his last album was not impactful. He was correct; the sales weren't really there; however, I highly enjoy listening to that album TODAY!
L.L. Cool Goat
Come on LL let 3 stacks do his thing! The album is great regardless of what you think or not. TBH 3 Stacks can say the same thing about you... Not the acting!
AGREED!!

I didn’t know she did all that shit!! She’s dope!!!!
Don't put a period where there's a comma is deep
Facts! And he is the person in room who has done it.
This is one of my favourite channels. Can you put the subtitle in English for deaf and hard-of-hearing people?

Your attitude determines your altitude.
MO!!!!!! LENA!!!!! LL!!!!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾❤️
i GOT A QUESTION, How come whenever I watch these kinds of shows, and black female, directors, producers, writers, and creatives on the show at some point they mention that they want in their work to do something uplifting for black males. But I never hear black males in their position ever mention that they want to do something uplifting for black females in THEIR work? Please enlighten me.
PROVERBS 16:27
Pentecostal churches have some of the best musicians EVER. A lot of your favorites are from the church. 💯
would love to see an Asian talent on here...People like Eddie Huang, Jeff Staples, or Bobby hundreds who can speak on the relationship between black and brown + Asian in the community and neighborhoods.
👍THE SHOP
the panel of guest are VERY "open minded"
*(this episode was enlightening)*
What’s the deciding factor in picking between promoting Grey Goose over Lobos? The check? Or do y’all prefer vodka over tequila, in this setting?
Don't put a period where there's a comma in your life was a bar
Ll da man
