As a Kuchingites, this is the first time I heard of this national park. lol. A trip to this national park seems like a marvelous idea this weekend. Btw, though its a norm for us, Malaysians, to shake and kiss the hand of someone who is older, but it really touch my heart seeing kids shaking and kiss your hand in this video, as we only normally do it to our family/relatives or someone we familiar with. But for them did this shows their politeness. To you perhaps might be a little awkward, but to us this is politeness to the elders. Seriously all this while I just took our culture for granted, but this video really open my eyes how such simple gesture can leave a soft spot in one's heart. and now I look like a douche praising his own culture. hahaha. kthanksbye.
As a fellow Kuchingites, I also didn't know we got National Park in Santubong area. And my school is near that area.

9:06 this is how malay people shaking hand. The younger one will kiss/touch their forehead to the elder's hand, this is to show some respect to the eldest. If u noticed in the raya vlog, Diana's/Nanny's mum looks like giving her hand to Justina to do the same thing..Its spontaneous because we are used to it.even sometimes people got their "awkward moment" when the other person response different way.. Sarawak is a huge state in comparison to other states in Malaysia... Some wonders are not being fully explored or publicised.... anyway, it'll be great for you gals to take a trip to Mulu National park at the Northern region of Sarawak. Google it and you'll realise how beautiful the place is...

Hi girls 👭 I must say this has to be one of my favourite videos you have put out. The scenery was breathtaking. Gorgeous views of the sea & the background mountains. The small village with the local people were so friendly & welcoming & to top it all were the lovable school children. I'm sure it has left you with a soft spot in your heart for that place. If I was there I would have definitely stayed for a bit longer to make friends & acquaintances. Good luck for your next trip

Pause at 9:30 and look at the Mount Santubong.
It look like a human face laying and facing upward, where the highest peak is the nose and the 2nd highest is the chin.
According to local myth, the mountain was named after Princess Santubong.
BTW, you gals were lucky for didn't got caught in the heavy rain this evening, during your trip there. It was so heavy, I had to drive below 60kmph in the main road.

Giant crocodile who killing humans in Batang Lupar in Sarawak in the 70s and 80s...
The giant man eating crocodile like @izwan safuani had mentioned. But there are a lot more to it. Ask the locals especially the old folks I'm sure they can tell you more about the legend behind it. There are other 'legendary' crocs as well.
Others of interest are the legend of Puteri Santubong and Kanang anak Langkau.

mee kolok should try the red one its only for non muslim the original one...taste more like heaven...hahaha..the white one is mee kampua...the other type of white mee is mee rangkai (dry mee) less ingredients in its only char siew pork meat mixed with pork oli and fried small red onion (if im not wrong)..i think only saratok people know the taste of mee rangkai is...if they going back to saratok...the 1st mee they must have is mee rangkai saratok...or sos tomato mee...slyruuuuup.....yummmy....sadly its far from kuching...
