  • In case you haven't heard, I wrote a book! It's all about making shows- primarily contemporary circus shows, but really any type of collaborative project will benefit from this book, broken into sections on creation, organization, funding, producing and touring.
It's built on interviews with over 20 creators from around the world, pulling from all of their experiences to bring the best methods and advice for how to make your show a reality.
A lot of people have been asking me the best way to get a copy of The Contemporary Circus Handbook. Here's 3 ways:
    1. Get it directly from me in Montreal (or Quebec City when I'm up there)! I try to always keep some on hand.
    2. Order it from the link above. That's my publisher Thom Wall's micropress Modern Vaudeville Press, and he only publishes circus books. So that's also a good thing to support.
    3. Amazon. Financially speaking, this is the worst for me (the author), but might still be good for the long term of the book. If you want to support the book but not Amazon, you can still leave a review there even if you bought it from option 1 or 2. If you take a picture of the book it might help verify your review.
If you want to have nothing to do with Amazon, word of mouth and social media posts are also always helpful!

I bought Original print at complètement cirque! It came with the letter where you clarified mistakes within the book! Such a quality and fruitful read! I’ve lent it to a few of my circus friends
