I remember when this episode first aired, my wife and I had discussed the show at length and I REFUSED to turn on Aqualad. I knew with that paladin mindset, he'd only be with the enemy to take them down from the inside. This episode was vindication.
5:23 That woman is Carol Ferris and she is Hal Jordan's (Green Lantern's) love interest. She is also Star Sapphire, a violet Lantern. For more information about her, I think you should react to Green Lantern The Animated Series (which is one season) after you finish season 2 of Young Justice and before starting season 3, because some important elements from Green Lantern TAS are continued in season 4 of Young Justice an important element and characters carry on from the show to Young Justice.
@@phillyman2837 I think the GL Corps are actually banned from Earth at the moment. Everything's nuts and I haven't been keeping up- but I know Sinestro is now a RED Lantern for some damn reason...
I've loved nearly every single incarnation of Robin/Nightwing in the DCU animated universe, and while his body count varies I think the DC comics have him being the biggest ''dog'' there is. Still in Young Justice, he's been confirmed to have had relations with Zatanna, Rocket, Barbara Gordon and Bette Kane (seen initially in S1 "Homefront" who had a casual encounter with him when they were older). Barbara even tells Dick Grayson (in the tie-in comic books) that she knows he's not ready to settle down anytime soon, but does help him celebrate his birthday every year -privately.
Depths is a great misdirect, which fooled me because when watching season two, I thought Aqualad was doing undercover work but when he was the one who did it, I retract my statement. 😅
Only downside to this episode it that CN would never allow the cliffhanger to be a stand off without confirming Artemis is alive lol. Could you imagine how crazy it would be if we got Wally staring down Kaldur like he was there for revenge.
We still get a decent few episodes thinking that Kaldur’s turn was genuine, and this is a solid point to flip the script on the audience. First few episodes it’s mystery; now, it’s dramatic irony.
Gee, a team that was founded on the idea they were to be a COVERT team going under cover. Truly shocking. In all fairness subtlety has not being thego to skill they employed but at least they are learning.

rewatching the previous episodes already knowing that Aqualad was undercover, you can see how well this plot was written

Yeah, if you watch that single season of Green Lantern T.A.S. it really helps with one arc in Young Justice season 4 but it's completely up to you.
Carol as Star Sapphire is on the latest Justice League lineup in the comics instead of any GL!
@@jasoncaldwell5627 let me get this right: Earth has like 9 Green Lanterns, but the writers are putting a Star Sapphire on the Justice League???

GL TAS is a very underrated show.
It was kinda funny how many ties they teased Artemis' "death" over the course of the episode.

I loved watching you get sucker punched by this episode!
More twists and turns and big shockers to come!
"Welcome back!" was the best moment of the season so far!
See how Nightwing palmed a fake blood packet on her stomach?

That would have been even more compelling, even though season 2 is as good as it was!

@@borjankosarac3645 This is the only point the betrayal had personal impact for us though. Letting it sit would have been nice.
Out of curiosity, will you check out the cutscenes from the Young Justice video game?
