One of the finest carillons in America, if not the world. And magnificently played. Thank you.

I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a carillon performance more.

It’s a gigantic musical box. 20th century wealth did some magnificent things for the whole citizenry to enjoy. This is just one of the many treasures that not even the tech wealthy today would ever do. …and if they did, it would be ugly cold modern. This tower is American Gothic, it
    S magnificent indeed.

I always wondered what would happen if carillon bells could have dampers like a piano. The sound always seems to be ruined by long sustain of such large bells. Really love the sound though

I'm not so sure about this. Obviously props to the performer and the strange instrument but It sounds fresh out of a horror movie to me. I feel like this kind of instrument wasn't built to handle the harmonic complexity of a piece like this. It would be better suited making the occasional input in an orchestral piece. That being said its clearly unique and again props to the performer of course.

The carillon is a bell tower, designed to play similarly to a piano, and stand alone playing entire songs by itself. That being said, once I thought about it in the context of a horror movie, it did creep me out. a bit. It would, however, be a monster of a task to get this beast to play with an orchestra, as the part of the instrument you see the performer using is near the top of the tower.

You cannot convey a carillons massive bells through speakers. Prob sounds much more magnificent in person.

is beacuase the bell tuning ist not the best tunning ... but thats not a problem of the musician
