Nice! I've been wanting to do the scooter cannonball. Maybe in 2025! Best of luck! looks like you got a great setup going. I will definitely be following you while your out doing it! Have fun!
@@JohnnyPowRides John, Why do you say, "if I can make it that far?" Your Vespa 300 seems in great shape. You've got a spare CVT replacement belt and tubeless flat repair. The only thing I would suggest is not running it at full throttle all day... unless the course requires it because of extreme distance requirements. Yeah, if your forced to keep it hammered all day, that could result in premature internal engine failure. I know, some of the guys will pay the bucks and have a whole rebuilt spare engine and/or parts on their trailer. All sorts of spare stuff to keep them going. Those are really serious contenders. I've watched some of the original Cannonball motorcycle videos from some years ago... the ones that use the old, first motor bikes ever made. And that was a horrendous battle because these things would breakdown virtually every day. A number of these guys were also professional machinests and they had their own machine shop in their trailer and would remanufacture parts at night and repair their bikes necessary to start again the next day. They would all help each other out. There was great camaraderie. Fabulous to watch. After a while they would just re-machine the same worn out parts night after night so that they could finish. They road all day and worked all night, catching a couple hours of sleep early in the morning. Just nuts... Gord
Johnny Pow!!! Great meeting you in Scooter Cannonball 2023 -- are you sure you don't want to eat my vespa floorboard well done burger? That burger fell on the floorboard of my vespa in the morning in Los Alamos, New Mexico (I thought if flew away on the road) I discovered it traveled with me on my Vespa GT200 floorboard all the way to Guymon, Oklahoma!! Ps your rotopax on your front rack looks pretty well done too lol but those gas cans are tough! Here's the burger video - have a bite 😜ua-cam.com/users/shorts2L7kc7Fb_QQ?feature=share
love it so much, I'm in the worst city ever and this baby would be stolen, my only reason I can't buy one, I just might sneak it into my apartment at this point LOL
Sniffling every 2 seconds? really? Maybe get a little healthier before posting a video to the public. This Gross and hard to listen to. Good luck on the trip. Get well, brother.
Sorry about the congestion - this was the only time I had left to shoot this video because I didn’t mention it but I had the bike loaded up in the driveway waiting for the Motoshippers truck (at the end of the video) which was on the way right then. I have narrow nasal passage and makes it easy for me to get congested and hard to breathe through my nose always. It sucks.
I was reading through the comments and thought it must be just me, then I saw your comment. Sure hope he's better soon, no fun riding when you're a bit under the weather. Good luck dude!
@@1960ARC sorry about the sniffing. Congestion is my life sometimes. This was recorded two weeks again. I’m in Cali now, with the bike, and feel great!
Super nice, just pulled the trigger and got myself the 300 GT super sport with all the bells and whistles, can’t wait to go get it this weekend.
Great riding w you into Los Alamos.
I should have watched this video before the cannonball 😮
Yeah man. I took too much stuff actually.
Very cool 😎 setup!! You’re making me want to run the scooter cannonball!! 😀👍
Hope to go to Rome Ga. The Saturday the cannonball comes through. Hope to see you there!!
Wow you have your rig set up! I’m amazed at the amount of thought and planning that went in to this! Wow!
Thanks. Check my "after" Cannonball video where I go over what worked good and what I would have changed.
Awesome video. Good luck with Canonball
Look forward to following you and GoPam too 👍
a song of clown and fire
wow - better planning and contingency coverage than NASA - impressive
LOL ... I have a new video coming soon with the "before/after" comparison
You're well prepared. Best of luck on the Cannonball. Enjoy the ride. We look forward to tracking your progress.
Good luck, brother! Following now!
Go Johnny Go!!!! Looks like you have done a good job of prepping. Wishing you a safe and pleasant trip my friend!!!!
Seems like you're ready to roll. Everything seems well thought out. I'm looking forward to following the Cannonball. Good luck on your adventure!

Do not forget your keys!
I'll have two sets...
Good luck
Really nice set up, looks like you've thought a lot of this out as far as what you need and don't...Gonna be a great ride !
I like the cut of your jib man.
Keep in touch along the way
Very efficient packing.
Bon voyage!😎
What about your Ninja gear? Throwing Stars, Nunchucks, Smoke Grenades? 😎
Don't forget to bring a coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave 😉
That is a lot of trailer for one little bike 🙂
hope ya have a great trip
Where did you get the fuel bottle mount for the back rack?
It’s a fire extinguisher mount I found on Amazon. Typically used to clamp to a roll bar or something on a SxS or 4wd
I was wondering the same!
Will be following you on the Cannonball here in the UK having watched all the TAT videos.
Are Steve and Ange going with you?
I am going solo!
@@JohnnyPowRides Wishing you well..
@@hondamonkeyboy thank you for the wishes and for following along!
What app are you going to run for your rally trip meter?
"Rally Tripmeter" just the free version I think, I'm only using it as a odometer
This will be fun to watch, John. How many days and distance does it cover? This will provide content for several weeks.😊

8 days 3100 miles... if I make it that far

What brand shoes are those?
How will the tracking work so we can follow you
On the scootercannonball.com website there’s an interactive map
What part of SC do you live in?
Columbia
So how heavy is the Vespa once fully loaded?
I forget the exact number but I weighed it when loaded and it was around 400 pounds if I recall
So adding about 100 pounds, not as bad as I first thought! @@JohnnyPowRides

I didn't hear any 'key' contingency plans. 🤣
already thought of that lol
be sure to stick a bottle of aspirin/pain reliever in your kit.
I'm sure I'll need a BC powder at some point for one reason or another
What is the point of all these kits? I ride 15000kms a year and multiple long trips, never needed all these junks; on a Sprint 150.
I’m a new rider that does high mileage with a genuine hooligan 170. How many years/miles until we need a new bike even after proper maintained
Cannonball..you got add the fuel while ur driving lol!!
