- “If they [Russia] had crossed that border, what do you think the West would have done for you?” DW’s Tim Sebastian asks the Ukrainian foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, on this week's Conflict Zone.
US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, visited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy last week, following the recent tension at the country’s eastern border with Russia. “We stand strongly with you,” said Blinken, but there was no detail on Ukraine’s ambitions to join NATO.
“We are aspirants, we are seeking membership, so we will keep pushing this story forward,” the foreign minister said, who spoke down the line from Kyiv.
“We are not a member of NATO yet,” Kuleba went on to say, “and I would like to say again, clearly and squarely, that this is our land. We will be defending it.”

@@thartstone Do you know that putin's russia has killed thousands of Ukrainians in the donbass and in Crimea. He has got so called volunteers and little green men there right now in ukraine causing death and destruction. There would be no war in the donbass or Crimea but for the actions of vlad the poisoner.
My take is very different from yours.
Putin would massacre this pitiful symbol of western media and save us from speculating how he die without showing signs of gas poisoning.

Maybe I am firing the killing shot too early. Which part of my remark make you think I am not on. I had seem Putin taking on reporters journalists in press conferences etc. Those people mere minions in the presence of Putin.

2008 Bucharest NATO summit started it all! 2 weeks after tie eating Saakashvilli attacked Russian forces and was run over in 5 days, Ukraine is the same story! If they promised (in writing this time) NATO will not expand Russia would have no problems with Ukraine joining the EU!

@@tingleblade4274 Your facts are pure bs, but ill tell you some real facts about russian controlled Donbas. Russia is betraying "them" for 7 years now... Russia ruined its economy, the rule of law and all democratic institutions. There is no stability or security in this region, but a 7-year-long curfew. There is no work, whole factories ware deconstructed and transported to russia, ofc with no compensation to the owners or the workers whatsoever. And if you're one of the lucky ones with work, the tiny salaries often don't get paid for months, like in one if the steel plants, people didn't get paid for over 6 months. And if the people there speak up about their mistreatment, they will land in torture jails without any trail, and will be hold there for years.

Not so.They are still there. Around 80 ths. of russian militants are there and only several units were withdrawn. All weapons are stayed there with the aim to conduct military exercise in summer. Therefore war escalation threat still remains.

Even when the Soviet Union collapsed and Russia and its economy was in tatters US gave billions to Russia and constantly supported Yeltsin.
