Couldn't agree more. Such an amazing solo, outstanding phrasing, amazing tone, the pocket and buildup of emotion and excitement; Mark is just on a whole other level:) he is a quite unique musician.
Not to put down any other videos, but this has been my favorite video of this series for a while. Thank you Mark and Mason for making time for this excellent runthrough interview.
There aren't very many players that can play funk progressions as well as Mark. He's so laid back with his wrist movement and doesn't over play syncopation. Truly a pocket player.
Great interview, and I can't get enough of Mark's playing, plus he's a super chill guy. I've seen him several times through the years around the Bay with the Pups as well as his own group, and had the chance to take a pandemic-era Skype lesson with him (plus some of his online courses) from which I'm still learning. What I find most amazing is his timing and feel for both lead and rhythm, and that he'd be right at home in Prince's or James Brown's band one night and then shredding as lead guitar in a metal or prog rock band the next. I'm also following his journey as he establishes himself as an artist in his own right. And now, sooner or later, I'll have to go down the rabbit hole of trying to learn at least some of the riffs from "What About Me" and "Shimmy Tiger". 😀
I PROMISE you I was listening to the opening track and I said out loud "That's one funky cat!" and the very FIRST comment I see is yours....😂😂😂 on a universal level, The TRUTH is the TRUTH!
Mark Lettieri needs to go on tour with Angel Vivaldi, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Richie Sambora, John Petrucci, and Al DiMeola, with Mason Marangella doing all of their rigs on an all-Italian-American guitar extravaganza.
Thanks for a great episode! I like how you talk about gear and such but you let music be played. So often the UA-camrs that feature gear have a great audio experience but not a very musical one.
Moises is great for quick backing tracks on songs you want to play. For a company talent show, I actually sat down with Melodyne some years ago and dropped the volume on each note to rough out a backing track for a Rippingtons song! With Moises the guitar part separated out sometimes seems to miss the early attack of some notes likely due to how those sat in the mix, but the rest of the backing comes out great, and that's what I was wanting to be better anyway... The separate guitar part always is good enough to use for learning the part and would probably do pitch to MIDI if you wanted with a little cleanup in something like Anthem Score which is a decent pitch to MIDI conversion tool that can even print the sheet music directly for $35 if you can't swing something like Melodyne and export it to something like Musescore. I think it's a good value at $40/yr for my purposes since I've bought individual songs from artists that will offer them in "minus guitar" format like Chris Standring and this will work on anything it seems.
@@VertexEffectsInc The discount on the site is 199 to 159 $ which is around 20%. I thought this wasn't it since the description says 30%. Thanks for the reply!
Holy hell. Just a suggestion.. an avalanche of plugs/promos all at once about halfway into a video is so off-putting. Loved where the video was going but all of a sudden I feel like I'm having to witness my hero trapped in an infomercial.
The Fiore has The Best Neck I've ever played. I just don't dig the look or the pickups, otherwise I'd get one. If it had the strat look like the silver sky, silver sky neck and middle pickups, a dragon 1 humbucker in the bridge, roasted maple neck I'd buy it.
No offense, but I am very glad you are not designing guitars at PRS 🙂 A Dragon 1, seriously? That's the second worst pickup PRS ever made (I love PRS, but every pickup - except for the Soapbars - preceding the 57/08 has been a disaster). I am playing since 1971 and have been searching for the perfect S-style forever (had at least 50). Since the Fiore came out I bought two of them and sold 2 Fender CS, 1 Shabat, and 1 Patrick James Eggle, just kept 1 Macmull (SSS config). The Fiore is the best guitar I have ever played.
@@uwedasler425 I was just being a little facetious. I've played the Fiore a couple of times and really liked how it played and felt, of course I'd have to run it through my rig to actually see how it sounds and performs. The Feel of the guitar is amazing! I kinda wish PRS would do some different finishes on this bad boy. I really like the transparent red. Maybe some metallic finishes or their standard carved flame top and body shape would look cool. My Suhr classic T has a roasted maple neck, and I absolutely love it. I believe this guitar with a roasted maple neck would sell very well.
Mark’s live solo on the Bob Reynolds tune, Can’t Wait For Perfect, is for me the best playing and tone I’ve ever heard on UA-cam.
I’ll have to check that out. I keep going back to his solo on the Easy Lover cover he recorded with Martin Miller.
that's how i kwoned this guy^^.
@@kennytromeur4575me too! :-)
Even better is listening to Nir Felder

Mark is soo funky he actually turned black
😭😭😭 I was thinking the same thing!! 😂😂😂
The Semitic connection 🧬
He's been on his hols 😅

Didn't know he got credit on 'Love Theory'. Greatest Artist!

nah dan huffs is still the best
You guys are doing an awesome job with content. Every video is a can't miss episode. Thank you

Always glad to see more or Mark, thanks!
Getting in early to say Mark's solo on his Track 'Jefe' by Snarky is one of the best I've ever heard! So good.

As a guitar player, this sums up the inspiration nicely.
Mark is my fav blend of emotion and technique. What an incredible incredible musician 🙌🏼
Snarky Puppy is coming to my country next year, in Asia. I hope Mark's schedule allows him to join them. He's one of my favorite players.
First time i heard Mark was in bob reynolds band. His solo on cant wait for perfect is just insane. The dynamics and feel is just on next level.
Tones of creativity, sooo inspiring into new territories. Thans Mark. Great episode
Never mind ‘this generation’ Mason, I’m 55 and been playing since 1981…and #marklettieri is one of my all time faves!
I’ve been waiting for this episode! Mark is one of the best!!
YES!! You guys are smashing out amazing content!
Mark es una de las leyendas vivas de la guitarra. Muchas gracias por la entrevista y la música.
Such a funky cat. He’s one of the best guitarists around at the moment.

I just saw mark for the first time live in Dallas, awesome show, and great timing!
As a massive Mark fan, this is UA-cam gold! Thank you Mark and Mason.
Such a killer player and nice dude! And I was digging the tone and was excited when you mentioned Roswell. I have all of their mics. No wonder!
I loved this. What a player! He seems like a great guy, good on him.
Mark is great. You kicked it off right with Ace of Aces!!
Mark is definitely one of my favorite guitarists ever! So groovy 🔥 Thanks for this amazing content, again!
Super rad interview. Thanks guys!
Great Great interview thx !!!!!
Easily one of the most tasteful guitarists right now.
This was great
Has to be Patrol Acrobatique. Those guitars are sooo funky.
Love this content! Mark Lettieri is the goat!
Mark I love your guitar playing, I can't wait to see you in Milan at the Fearless Flyers live show. See you, hope to be close enough.
As a bald man, this interview was very offensive. (Great stuff though, thanks Mason and Mark!)
Mason's grooving always the highlight of these videos
I’m just waiting to become a meme! L O L!
Mark is my favorite player. Hands down.
We love mark
Mark! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Insane tone 🚀

🍝🤌🎸
Most excellent
The Tubes were a great band. The albums "Remote Control" & "The Completion Backward Principle" were two of my favourites from the early 80s.
AHHHHHHHHY YESSSSSES !!!!!!!!!
Respect!! :D

He must've been out in that Texas sun because the tan is going crazy
I had no idea he played on the Kirk Franklin tune. Mark "Monster" Lettieri
ML is the man.
FINALLY
My god ! What a fck Grooveeeee
Mark rips. Also, he's got a little Antonio banderez circa mask of zero vibe going on.
I cannot unsee it now man!
Can't find the Promo Code for the J. Rockett Melody, anybody? Thanks!
Is the link not working? I think that it’s already applied to the B stock items.

Mark plays his ass off ALL THE TIME
Killer interview! Anyone knows what strap he is using?
It's a Dunlop!
Opening part was Cory Wong's song? I thought Mark did Baritone in fearless flyers and Cory did Tenor Guitar?
Watch it. Mark plays his part.

This is primarily a channel of guitar related gear. And this helps Mark as much (if not more) as it does the channel. Get your head out of your a$$.
It is called Vertex Effects. I assume people view the content for trying to find out what EFFECTS the respective musician uses to get their sound.
😮❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
could anyone link the @ of Mark's latest album cover artist?
She’s @anka.lang on Instagram!
since when Carlos Sainz played guitar

So, basically if it were a completely different guitar? Got it. I'll tell Paul..🤣
@mjlettieri Thanks Mark, you're my Hero. Rock on! Oh yeah and maybe throw on some Gibson Robot tuners.

No 7#9 chord nor compression was abused during the recording.
Lettieri, Marangella ... Italians funks better 🤟🏻
What Cory Wong wishes he sounded like. Fight me idc!
Mark is looking tan
He’s Italian
What a silly band name
Mark cant play rythym guitar that carries the momentum of the song said no one ever!
