Thanks for taking the time to video this. This is the first time I have seen the insides of one of those machines. A little tinkering and it looks like you have a machine that will help you out around the place.

I've done hundreds and hundreds of tires on a machine similar to that one. Brings back memories. Handy tool to have, but it's tough on alloy rims. See you in the next one.

I just found a 1950's Bushman tire changing machine. I bought it and brought the beautiful disaster home. It did not come with a bubble balancer but two weeks later I was looking at sellers in Facebook market place and I saw a guy was cleaning out a shed. He had a beautiful bubble balance and he did not make me pay an arm and a leg. Now I am going to get may beautiful machine restored and working perfectly.

Takes me back to my first job at the Atlantic Richfield gas station in 1965. A bottle of root beer was 10 cents.

I remember using one of those everyday at my first job. There sure can be a huge labor saver. Breaking down tires by hand can really take a lot of energy and time.

Just picked up one myself ,haven't tried it yet hope it's working ok .You are right alot easier with the machine then doing by hand how I normally do .Thanks for sharing. Picked mine up for 250 thought that wasn't bad .

You and me are pushing the numbers, I'm 72 and miss my old shop with the smell of grease. I would be in heaven on that scrap pile that you make home out of. We work like that tire machine... slow but steady. Learned a ton over the years but it don;t cut it walking on your arms (me) and at least you can walk but breathing Ican see comes hard. I carry me one of those little folding magnifier so to see what is wrote on a package. Just keep trying, no one should fault you for that

I’ve been on the lookout for one of those. Mine is a manual tire changer from the 1940s. Works well just a lot of work.

Remember to always keep you hand on the top of the tire mounting bar when it is turning. It can and will fly off and knock your teeth out.

Good day Yea doing by hand is getting harder. There was 1 place you said compressor needed a little more air,, I had to smile, because when I change tires I need alittle more too. You get it figured out Thanks

Yup, a little tinkering and some practice, before long you'll be putting tires on and off just like the young bucks at the tire stores! When you and I were kids, most gas stations had one of these!

The old compressor does 175psi and enough volume with that big tank. the tire changer would not work on my 125psi compressor

Richard I think you can replace the bad pieces with air brake quick release valves, they aren't that expensive you might even have a couple there on an old semi trailer TJ

I will check in to it

@@oldfarmjunk101 those things are called mufflers. They are supposed to be a 1 way valve. They are to let the air back out like what you did with the hose. Great idea by the way. I am having the same issue with my tire machine. Leaking air all the time. I assume those mufflers are bad. Thanks for the video.

This country was built by people who didn’t know what they were doing! They figure it out as they go! He succeeded in what he wanted to accomplish and I bet this old man who “doesn’t know WTF he is doing” probably has more money in the bank than you’ll ever have! You need to move out of Moms basement! AS$HOLE!
