No, he lands on the right, which now makes it his pivot foot and pivoted off that same foot (his right) because that’s his established pivot foot… but I know what you meant
So, I always used to think this was a travel... because he pivots on his right foot, but then picks it up and jumps off his left foot to make the layup. BUT, I recently learned this actually isn't considered a travel (at least in the NBA). It's a step through, which is a legal move. The rule was explained by an NBA trainer like this: "Rule book says you CAN pick up your pivot foot after completion of your dribble, but that it can't return to the floor before shooting or passing. You can't pick up your pivot before your dribble... so out of a triple threat position, this would be a travel. But after completion of your dribble, it's 100% clean."
@@eddyng394 yea fr at all levels of basketball its one of the oldest moves in the book only place I see it get called a travel is UA-cam comment section tbh I would be cheesed if someone tried to call me on travel for a clean step thru irl
Not even close to a travel, he literally plants his right foot after he picks up the dribble and pivots around on the same foot to get the layup, great footwork
I love how Cam put his foot down and called game and didn't let showtime manipulate his win because that move was clean af . Cam lost that softy badge 💪
Travel.he tool 2 steps. Pivot on his right, spinned and then took another step with his left for a lay up. But honestly people let this go all the time except when I do it🤣
Depends on what rules ur runing and being called. Man left his pivot foot before the shot left his hand that a travel! And for anyone saying its a step through shot he has to shot before that pivot lifts. And yes he allowed 2 steps after the pick up not once a pivot foot is established meaning all has to be done In 1 2 3 move set not. But again depends wat they said the rules was. Even streetball has certain rules so that my question.
The pickup and pivot foot checks out but there's a tiny displacement of the foot in completing the pivot. Technically it's a travel but i'd count the bucket anyway, it's a 1v1 and that's too small of a disadvantage for the defence to call.
Dumbass you dont know basketball, unless you MOVE your pivot foot WITHOUT going up for a layup/shot then it would be a travel. But he was on his pivot foot the whole entire time and only got off his pivot foot when he went up for a layup which u can do. Thats clean asf
@@jimbazilio1248 Lol im the kid here? You trying to act grown so bad im over 20 yrs old... And you clearly dont know the rules and basics of basketball dumb shit lol. Ive watched the video over 5x and Im correct and your not. He planted his pivot foot (right foot) and used his moving foot (left foot) to direct himself towards and under the basket so he can go for the layup and whenever your pivot foot is set you cant move it UNLESSS you go up for a shot/layup dumb kid. Lol im over 20yrs old paying my own bills and helped my mom since I was a kid stop it you clearly dont know the simple rules and basics of basketball
@@tonioc7480 He is 100% incorrect. Because Cam didnt take an extra step. He went up for the layup which isnt counted as a step. While he is on his pivot foot which was his right foot, he can move his left foot as much as he wants and direct him towards the basket and then took a layup which you can do. You cant move your pivot foot unless your taking a shot/layup that wasnt a step at the end it was a jump up to the basket
That’s clean if he would have released the ball after the other foot left the ground then it would have been a travel but he left the ball with it on the ground
Everybody saying this is clean is stupid you can obviously see his whole pivot foot slide when he picked the ball up n did the turn around . It looked clean but definitely a travel
it was a travel when he stopped on his pivot foot den steps through his pivot foot actually moves and that is a travel but he would of still won buh if you slow it down he moved the pivot on stepped trough its slides up and dont stay inna same place
clean because he jumped off two feet from his pivot. wasn't perfect but this is a lenient rule in basketball. just cannot jump off clearly one foot (which you can imagine would give you a whole extra 5 meters of space to clear), which in real time and in slo mo you can see he's jumping off two. nice move nice game
a lot of people think this and play like this cause a lotta youth coaches teach it, but you really can jump off just the one non-pivot foot. i've never seen any rule in any level of organized ball that says you gotta jump off your pivot, just that if you lift it you gotta shoot/pass before you land again.
That was clean he never changed pivot foot he just landed on his right while running and than pivoted on his left
No, he lands on the right, which now makes it his pivot foot and pivoted off that same foot (his right) because that’s his established pivot foot… but I know what you meant
No, both of you are wrong. Once cam puts down his pivot foot, k swipes at it. That’s a foul, they should check up at the top of key. BOOM SHOCKALAKA
Still travel
That was actually clean. I tried to slowly go thru it and it’s clean

Is not just the NBA. College basketball Rule 9 Article 5a. Same as NBA. That is a classic step through not a travel.

Clean and nice footwork

Because if he didn’t he would’ve lost
Clean step thru
They weren’t arguing about the step thru showtime knows step thru is a legal move
Not a travel. He is allowed that step if he is shooting. Read the rule book KShowtime.
Clean.
Clean
Thats too clean. Nowhere near travel
Cleannnnnnnnnn
There shouldn’t even have been any speculation, wasn’t even remotely a travel 😂
Clean shouldn’t be a question
Like OutKast said….. So Fresh and So CLEAN💯

Not a travel, his established pivot foot stayed planted on the floor the whole time until he jumped for the layup….. clean as a whistle
False. Not a travel
That’s clean game
Didn’t travel, but definitely carried
Cleannn
Clean as a whistle!
In the motion of a shot
Thats clean, that’s game
Yes
CLEEEEAN
That's just footwork. CLEAN. Showtime go brrrr
clean
Mr. Clean
It’s crazy but clean
Called a step-through
Why didn’t he play Kenny like this LOL
Clean clean
Him making that long step down and stopping on a dime made him think he had to have traveled but he kept his footing and his pivot was correct

He gathered while he established his pivot so it's clean. You can really tell who knows basketball and who doesn't in these comment sections 😂
Carried the ball for sure after the 3rd dribble but other than that I think the play is clean
yes
It was clean
Cleeeeean 🧼
So close but I think it was a drop step to clean pivot and K was holding his arm💪
Last step was the third
That's easily clean he stayed in the same motion and layed it in
Anyone know where you can get that ball from?

Stfu you sound dumb as hell. Shit was clean
He never came off his right foot
Nope not a travel! Bro just had a long step off his pivot foot!
That is clean
Step through that’s clean
Yeah
Ehh on second thought it's a travel of you want to be crazy about the rules lol but I wouldn't call it
That no travel nba player’s do it all the time
He slipped his foot while pivoting, so a travel, but depending on the league it wouldn't be called as it involved contact on the move
clean as f....
Since he left his pivot foot when shooting the layup, travel. You have to jump off 2 if you wanna do that move.
You can’t take a step into your pivot and then step thru lmao
He took 4 steps
Low key yes gotta leave off your pivot or both can’t take an extra step
Dumbass you dont know basketball, unless you MOVE your pivot foot WITHOUT going up for a layup/shot then it would be a travel. But he was on his pivot foot the whole entire time and only got off his pivot foot when he went up for a layup which u can do. Thats clean asf

There's people that lift there pivot before but his was good ... no travel
Travel!!! He took two steps before the step through than gathered his self and jumped off the opposite foot
I didn’t think it was
Stand on that
That’s pivot wym.
Everybody saying this is clean is stupid you can obviously see his whole pivot foot slide when he picked the ball up n did the turn around . It looked clean but definitely a travel
Travel. When he jumped for the layup,he shouldve jumped with both feet. He picked up his pivot foot as he exploded with his left.
from what i saw was not a travel
Showtime still better lol
traavveelll
You cannot take a whole step after pivoting in a circle that's a travel
But you can though, it’s called a step through
yuuup. After watching this in 0,25x speed im convinced it's a travel.
No travel
lol anybody that calls that a travel can't ball
No not a travel
So Not clean, if three steps is a travel then this is not clean, I’m not hating on cam, I support him, but this is travel.
U dont know basketball
Only the realest haters would say this was a travel 🤣🤣
Can someone explain this to me
Travel bro.
nah no travel
it was a travel when he stopped on his pivot foot den steps through his pivot foot actually moves and that is a travel but he would of still won buh if you slow it down he moved the pivot on stepped trough its slides up and dont stay inna same place
depends. but by the rule book, he traveled right before the step through. his right foot ever so slightly lifts and moves toward the basket.
thats clean he never changed tpivot foot he just landed on his right
