    Just became eligible for e5... this is really helpful since we didn't spend too much time on this in basic.

    This looks like the NCO Academy over in Hawaii. Your videos were monumental to me passing the board.

    Interesting to see how different branches do these things.

    Thanks 1SG. Your advice on killing the board work for me I got that p status back in June. Now this is extremely helpful for me since i go to BLC this coming Tuesday. A little nervous for it.

      Hell yeah! You got this! I’m working on a BLC vid for my other channel - UA-cam.com/billstoker
      Isn’t out yet, so it won’t help ya, but pay attention to the rubrics, and pay attention to detail. Your SGLs should be more than willing to address any questions.
      A the best!

    It’s been 11 years since basic (I got out for 5 years) and our reserve unit basically never does any DNC aside from having a couple formations. I have forgotten A LOT about DNC and they are finally sending me to BLC. My Questions will sound stupid- but could you answer some really elementary questions-
    1. When you call cadence how do you know the pace to call
    2. After you call a command how do you know when to execute the next cadence (left, right)
    3. Do you have to be on a particular side of the squad while marching.
    Thank you !

    • @STOKERMATIC
      @STOKERMATIC  5 років тому +5

      Great questions! Thanks for your service by the way. So, marching cadence is 120 beats per minute - while I don’t have a metronome in my head, it’s a fairly easy beat to keep.
      I call “left” or “one” the next time my left foot strikes the ground, regardless of which direction we turned.
      Technically, oh can be anywhere, but the proper answer when marching a squad is to be three paces and centered-on the left side when marching forward.

    Ohh yes, 25th. The most chewed up unit in the military. Aloha Friday, tropic Thursday, half day Wednesday, then they wonder why work never get done and discipline levels are low. You take a joe from high-school, and cut them loose in Waikiki, you better expect trouble. Going from the 101 to 25th is a career ender!

    Outstanding. DnC has almost disappeared in the modern army, and that's a freakin shame.

      It sure has. After some rifle PT with my company I did about 15 minutes of manual of arms training, and man they sucked, lol.
      But, now they don’t. Hehehe

    👀 but what is the PROPER thing to do if the person calling movements calls the WRONG direction. Lol. Here after that tiktok where the NCO called right and they needed to go left off the stage. Im curious what yall think!

    • @STOKERMATIC
      @STOKERMATIC  3 роки тому +1

      Haven’t seen that one! 😂 hmm if called properly - execute unless it’ll take you off a cliff.

      @@STOKERMATIC lol that's what I thought. I was in the Navy so we would do it diff. We would turn and then not move until "posted". We wouldn't just be given a movement and then automatically start walking. But yeah it's funny check it out on tiktok.

      yes

    • @cheyennedelgado7428
      @cheyennedelgado7428 6 років тому +2

      Yes, for example to call a column right, the predatory command, Column right, is called on the right foot, a step is taken, the command of execution, March, is called again on the right foot, and again a step is taken and the command executed on the left foot.

    So, let me get this straight. This is the video the army puts out to show their drill standards??? The one soldier has his hand touching the middle of the trail soldiers arm. Not up at the shoulder. What a friggin joke.

    Spacing discipline was off. Soldiers at attention standing pigeon-toed and slouching. One of the poorest examples I've seen.

      Rica Bulletproof but you’re supposed to be squared away if this was intended to be an instructional video. Ijs. I’ve seen way worse though.
