"Islam Makhachev's entire training camp will be in Russia, not AKA" - Shamil Zavurov

EFC President, MMA veteran, and life-long training partner of UFC Lightweight Championship contender Islam Makhachev was recently interviewed about his teammates preparations for his upcoming title fight. Zavurov touched on several interesting topics, such as how Makhachev has done his entire training camp in Russia for this fight instead of traveling to his main training camp gym of AKA in San Jose California.
Zavurov also touched on the importance of acclimation for foreign fights and also the teams cherished practice of playing regball to start practice.

One of my favorite channels thank you for all the translations. As for not training at AKA DC said that he would fly out to help Islam train and with coach Javi already with him I think he will be fine. What is important is his team are around him and he is accumulated!

Islam has been training there for years. I doubt he will have too many more "secrets" to spill. I think this decision was more-so about the geographically proximity between Russia and Dubai. Easier to acclimate instead of going to America first.
