This is one of the most, if not the most powerful burials I've ever seen. Raw respect, emotion, and honor for the deceased. I myself got a bit misty eyed over this and I don't even know who died.

The mother's cries at the end of this ripped my soul out to comfort her. Hope she felt it.

A ceremony that combined christian and aboriginal traditions.
My respects for the Maori people.

Thank you for sharing this! Heart breaking, powerful, beautiful! Much respect to the man, the family, the warriors, and the culture! May he rest well!

How beautiful and true. This isn't haka done for the cameras necessarily, this feels like real haka, genuine emotion and passion and the catharsis of grief. All of us could have such a send-off, you know? I don't want haka performed at my funeral because it isn't my cultural ancestry and would be weird for my friends and family but I wish my own culture had something like this where grief can *really* be expressed beyond platitudes and some sniffles.
