Interesting video, I work with SG and giant and have opinions myself about the gene. As far as recessive plays out I 100% disagree. A normal X SG is a giant and there is a visual effect between SG and Giants and normals. SG being very stalky big built and very robust look, while giant is bigger than a normal and is more robust (SG and gin at tend to have bigger heads) and normal of course is normal. I believe the gene is either polygenic or co dominant just like how MS plays out. And there is a few things to know too SG X Giant usually tends to get 75% SG and 25% Giant, and giant X giant= 50% SG and 50% giant. SG x normal = 100% giant, normal x gaint = 50% giant and 50% normal either way the offspring are large but I just mark them all as possible giant because no matter what it will look bigger.
Sweet info. My G x G are pumping out eggs. Hear you can tell Giant(4.5”) from normal(3”)hatchlings right off the bat Edit: my 1st hatchling female is only 6wk old and 7 inches 35 grams🎉
One characteristic that i think shows SG as well, is that "diamond" shaped head. All of ur photos seem to show that as well! And u mentioned in ur video, good job! =D
I wonder one of my gecko is bigger than any other geckos I had they born in the same months. It’s a male and it lot bigger than the others , it doesn’t have giant historical gene tho , so I’m wondering
I have a 110 gram female leopard gecko , can it be a regular giant or is this guarantee a super giant ? I didn’t have her when she was growing up so I am not sure if she reached the required weight within a year . I just know she is 110 grams now at 2 years old
Great video sense we are on the topic of giant leopard geckos I have one that is 4 months old and he weighs 60 grams do you think he could be a giant leopard gecko have a wonderful day everyone
I will try. A lot of the resources come from book. so, it may be hard to add a link in the description. But, if I find it on the website, I will definitely add them in the description.😉👌
Got a lot of great info from your video!!!! Looking forward to the Arizona Reptile Show in November and definitely want to get a Giant Leo!!! Hoping to see more videos!!! 🦎🦎🦎
Hey Mia, Thanks for the comment! Some geckos could grow faster than others, so I recommend you wait till your gecko reaches 1 year old. Also, checking back with the previous breeder for gecko's parent genetics would help too.
@@GECKOPIA ok! I’ll wait til then- I got him from a pet store so I don’t think they have info on his parents, but he is a tremper albino so I think it’s possible. I’ll see in about 4 months!

Chris- Do you have & sell just the Giant Leopard Geckos?
I wonder one of my gecko is bigger than any other geckos I had they born in the same months. It’s a male and it lot bigger than the others , it doesn’t have giant historical gene tho , so I’m wondering
Do super giant have a different lifespan than normal ones?
And how do their diets vary?
@@mirnasimmi4901 bigger means larger food or more normal sized food for an normal adult leo
When SuperGaint hatched how much would it weigh?
I think you might have some wires here. The original giant was a male. And moose was not an original but one of the first generation, and also a male.

You should get into super giant Leoprd geckos
I just bought a godzilla giant as they called it from repticon, can't wait to show pics. he is super small atm.
Any pics of the giant???
Share some photos, 🤙🏼
I have a Godzilla giant F from geckoetc. Awesome girl on her 2nd clutch after 1 month and she “seeks!” to pair between clutches too
Was the breeder Steve Sykes/geckoetc?
Godzilla is his line.

Hey there Nick, I would wait little more till he gets 6-7 months old. That would give you a better idea whether if he would be SG or G.
Okay thanks
Awesome video! Thank you so much for creating this!

hoping to work with some good looking tangerines next year. I also want to purchase a pair of clowns or W&Y’s
I have a good blood tangerine right, so if you’re interested, feel free to to visit our website. Link in description
Hey, Chris, just to correct one little mistake in your video, Moose is actually a male supergiant, I just checked tremper's book to confirm it.
Hey Jason! Thanks for correcting me~ I guess my tremper book was misinformed then. 😅
@@GECKOPIA the female your thinking of was the 1st Albino from the imported pair from Pakistan that Ron acquired

My Godzilla Giant pair from Geckoetc laid 5clutches(last start)this year. I noticed 2 females are Only 4mths old and 85grams each!!🎉🎉

I was wondering if my gecko is a super giant because he’s already 10 inches and he’s only 8 months old- I haven’t weighed him yet.
