podcast uncle's reaction at last was real af..... genz like to invite problems and complications and boom later update relatable meme and post over all social media.....anyways good work nirmal my fav hopefully we'll get to see more of it!
I LOVE HOW IT CAPTURED MODERN DATING scenario so organically. The cinematography had a beautiful story. I was immersed and hoped for a better ending. The ending portrayed a reality. I liked it so much I shall show it to all my partners as well :)) Waiting to see more of your short films Nirmal :))
Life isn't always an Imtiaz Ali movie or a Mani Ratnam movie. But life has been a Nirmal Pillai movie. Confusing, dreadful but absurdly hilarious and calming. Despite the emotional rollercoaster till the very end, hopeful that maybe unlike me Gokul can get the happy ending we all pray for. The simple intentional direction and visualization was perfect. Every frame is a painting and the blocking is done to perfection. I can't commend you enough for the heart and soul in the story combined with the sheer technical expertise it takes to craft this perfect movie.
As a Chennai-Malayali who studied in Bangalore and later moved abroad, bruv you've absolutely captured a slice of life, loved everything about this, Nirmal & Team next level stuff bois 💯, can't wait to see more of your work!
Who let Nirmal cook? I came in with high expectations and not only did they meet them but they absolutely exceeded them. This is truly one of the most stunning color palettes I’ve seen in a long time, each frame thoughtfully chosen and beautifully executed. The cinematography is equally captivating and subtle yet impactful, with every frame carefully composed to make it seem so down to earth and relatable. Cant wait to see you make a full feature film I know you wont disappoint.
Very few films capture our generation organically - our talk, our relationships, our everydays. It always feels staged, like someone’s reading a grammatically perfect script. I love everything about this film. The story - how it’s full of mumbling and real words we use, the cinematography & colour grade - a visual treat, the dialogues, audio, music, and of course, the performances - gokul’s simple awkward character vs Ishita’s confident, colourful one. I hope this blows up, it deserves to 🩷
I didn't know Nirmal could direct so well. It's really good and depicts the actual relationship in this Gen-Z era. The humour is so perfectly done in this. Loved it!! 🙌
A beautifully made film that’s relatable, entertaining, and engaging. Nirmal Pillai and Kripali absolutely nailed their performances. Huge shoutout to Nirmal Pillai for such a solid debut as a writer-director. Taking a feeling that’s so hard to even put into words and turning it into an entertaining and heartfelt 38-minute film is no small feat. He really pulled it off! And the way Bengaluru is shown? Just beautiful.
I've been watching Nirmal since his Taylor Swift outros, I LOVED HIS CONTENT, AND I STILL DO, Man's a wholesome package creator, stand up, Director, writer AMAZINGGGG!!!
This film is so real, asking "What are we?" to someone you like (who has expressed they like u back) is one of the most dreadful things ever these days. It seems so simple but its honestly soooo complicated, this movie captured that so well! Great job!! 💖
Let's just all take a moment to appreciate the art team, right from props, plants, posters, totoro, heck even the music selection (chop suey totally got me and Vainko was kinda expected lol), I don't think there was any empty space in frame and props to lighting too, also, the return of the kid was a fun touch!
I love this!! I've never been in a relationship before, but from the stories around me and the general outlook our generation has towards dating, relationships, etc, I can say this aptly captures a very organic and raw take on this topic. I loved the way the frames were shot, color gradients, the lines, the awkwardness, the silence between the moments, the different characters all against the backdrop of our wonderful Bengaluru. It has been a wonderful immersive 40 minutes. Well done to the entire team and cast behind the making of Bata Boys and Crocs girls. Wishing you all success in all your endeavours ahead!
Hello, Kuriakose here🙏Congratulations Nirmal and team for making such an awesome movie 👏Now I doubt I've gone from Gen X to Gen Z😅Thanks for making me young again, Nirmal and team..😜
After watching this I must admit that an entire generation of young people will do better if they understood attachment styles. The young woman in this movie clearly had a fearful attachment style. She had the fear of losing herself in a relationship, or losing her freedom in any way. People with this kind of an attachment style do best when the other partner never forces them into something and keeps reassuring independence, regardless of being in a relationship.
OMG!! This is literally the best... This captures the silly little things of us BANGALORIANS as well as a beautiful story line... and lol the 'anime cartoon' triggered me too (as usual)
Can i just say i have a crush on nirmal? (Yeah thats weird im sorry) But the little things man- the tent sequence... His actions, his gestures were amazing.... On the whole its a good moviee!! Loved the direction and the visuals, great job
I am so proud of u Nirmal.. This film perfectly describes Gen Z relationships. Also situationships. Abishek's character was so funny. Everyone did a great job. Loved it ❤
hey same beginning idk whtr u will see this but as a person who recently moved out of Bengaluru for my masters being in the city for the past 4 years seeing it through ur short film made me feel nostalgic especially all the cute date spots of the city for me the movie felt like a love letter to the most prettiest city in india and made me relive the moments I had there thanks :)
Absolute banger. Hit all the spots. From ishita's wacky socks to gokul's adorable loser energy, I loved every detail of this. The storytelling through each frame and shot, the colours, the outfits (?!!!SHOUTOUT TO THE BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL KRIPALI), the locations, the acting, every single part of this movie was just perfect. I cannot express how well you guys have shown the hiccups of figuring out life and how even through all this, people just want love. And when the right time comes they just come stumbling over their bata shoes. Just make sure to have a light with you to show them the way ;) This movie made me feel like the morning after a shitty day, you wake up to the melody of the sizzle of choodu dosa amma is making and the light drizzle outside. Absolutely will recommend to everyone i know. 10/10 nirmal.
FELT REALLY GOOD WATCHING IT, the best 38 mins I spent probably, what can't this person nirmal do shits dope af felt every scene every second is relatable in one way or another A TRUE MASTERPIECE BY NIRMAL 👏👏, we need a FULL MOVIE BY NIRMAL loved every bit congrats to the entire team
I can’t believe how relatable this was (really got me thinking bout some situationships😭😭). Thanks for making a film that reflects the confusing mess that is Gen Z dating culture, this definitely made the better part of my day!!The script and cinematography were just amazing and I can’t wait to see what else you have in store 🥹
I just finished watching your movie, and I’m absolutely blown away! The storytelling, the visuals, and the emotions it brought out were incredible. It’s clear how much passion and effort you put into every frame, and it really paid off. Watching it felt like a journey, and I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. You’ve inspired me so much, and I’m truly grateful for the amazing work you do. Can’t wait to see what you create next!
not really a big fan of short films but this has my heart. The movie looks so fresh and the cinematography is brilliant. Loved everything in the movie.
This movie has my heart, It's a beautiful cross over of Nirmalised 60 days of Ishita and the Mani Ratnam movies that we have watched growing up. Special kudos to whomsover did the art work from the songs playing in the house party ( Maalai Mangum Neram, Unnale Unnale), that My Neighbour Totoro toy, that yellow tarpaulin sheet from Alaipayuthey. I loved the Bangalore references too, Cubbon, Blossom Book house, Corner House, Nandini milk packet, Naru Noodle Bar, Bob's, etc., This felt so personal..
💯 I Mean seriously my whole thought is like IS this a parody? and then i open comments i dont know i am searching for these types of comments. Every other comment are like i dont know u understand what i mean right. Its just i cant process all of these... I JUST WANT TO FEEL OLD SCHOOL ROMANCE.... THIS GENERATION IS INDEED COOKED
I didn’t start watching it with great expectations neither am I a big fan of romantic stuff but damnnn, this hit me right in the feels. Very relatable and definitely beautiful. Good job, Nirmal, everyone. Is it just me or does the girl look like Radhika Apte ? Strikingly beautiful, must say
Never go there bro. This is a UA-cam video. 500 Days of summer is a film. Idk what is wrong with people comparing a UA-cam video to a film. This so called film is not even a film, it’s a fancy video trying to be a film. Having said that it’s actually a good UA-cam video.
This is soo cool man i never expected that level of quality in this film the characters were portrayed so realistically emphasising the struggles of the common people to maintain a grip on who you love and trying to find a slow paced part of their lives you can enjoy.
Wow! Amazing storyline. I just loved the utter confusion between Ishita and Gokul. Nirmal you killed it man, the shots, the characters and the ending - amazing! A proper Gen Z movie made by and for Gen Z people.
Life has been a twists and turns with all rollercoaster of emotions ✨ but It'll definitely end up something like this movie ended .. ❤ hats off Nirmal ❤ I really enjoyed it 💯
This is pure gold, cinematography is amazing. Even better is the screenplay and acting, especially Nirmal, Abhishek and Kripali. And Manoj Mani keeps things lively by voicing what we're all thinking about Gen Z (even though I myself am a member of Gen Z).
"Damn, what a movie! First of all, superb work in cinematography, editing, and the actress's performance. And finally, Nirmal, man, I think you're more than just an entertainer. Sure, being an entertainer isn’t easy, but compared to direction, it’s somewhat simpler. But now, you’ve truly proven your talent. Thank you for giving us this film on UA-cam. I hope you continue creating such well-written, engaging movies. Looking forward to your debut on the big screen if you have plans for that!"🧡
Omgg Nirmal!! Such an incredible work y'all, all the tiny details in the film are absolutely lovely!! It is sucha down to earth bangalore coded film.. Cannot wait to see more of your work!!
WHAT A MOVIE - the aesthetics, the writing, the awkward silences… weirdly made me feel like a third-wheeler as an audience. You have outdone yourself in ways I couldn’t even imagine! Cannot wait for more 💛
I’m not big on sending shout outs for movies. But this was such a cute fun story, loved everything about it. Even the technical aspects were spot on. Such a refreshing take on romance, much needed :) Good luck with your next big things in life, Nirmal!
NIRMAL, I'm a Malayali from Karachi, Pakistan. My story is a little complicated, my grandfather took the train for a baddie, as he was romanticist. Nevertheless, the movie was amazing the bata reference at the end made me sob + the manga reference. Omg, keep working, you are the brightest of all.
So nice to see Nirmal acting and directing a movie 🥲🥲 And god situationships are frustrating! You don't need to be in love to start a relationship. It can always happen afterwords. Anyway, this is such a good movie for a debut ❣❣ Hats off to the team. Can't wait to see more!!
The production quality is so good and really loved the whole thing. Plus you get 5 marks for using VAINKO as a background score 😁✨ and it's crazy how relatable that ramen shop conversation is🥲
Wow... You nailed it. Its like a dream come true moment for you. It was really good and the the cinematography, music and the retro lights were too good. Congratulations Nirmal and Abishek. Finally the boss beer gang assembles here. 🙋🙋
Loved this so much! It captures soo many great and sad feelings which we just can't describe normally, it really hits home and the way the story was put out was just amazing! Loved this so much✨🖤
for me the second half felt more amazing than the first that too in the silent scenes in the terrace was perfect. its like the scenes with less talking script has the more impact and screen presence. anyone this is good debut Nirmal! way to goooo!
I remember watching your parotta act videos with my sister before our exams to relieve ourselves from stressing out and now you're releasing your own freaking movie!!! I loved it, especially the tent scene when Gokul raised all expectations. Also if you're not going to eat your ramen, send it to Hyderabad no?
Amazing work, sad but hits the right spot how we let something good go just out of fear of getting our hearts broken, really gave me a nostalgia of banglore life. ❤❤❤❤❤
"You know, tent pitching is actually one of the most complicated things to do" , literally every men after giving their best, explaining how was it done, if their efforts was not acknowledged. Bro hit that right on and she got it before that so adorable.
Uncle doesn't know Instagram reels but knows a bumble notification when he hears one... Loving the magic, so will jgnore the logic fails...great effort thambi!!! Bangalore never looked more beautiful ❤
Man ❤ This one is a professional entertainer. Like, after so long I travelled along with the story 😌 Great making brothers 🎉 Waiting for the next one 😉
This reminds of my first few months and years in Bangalore. All my romances took place around Blossoms (the new one). I'd either meet someone over there or take them on a date to that place. Ah, good memories!
Excellent craft. Well done Nirmal. Portrays the confusion right. Call it as siuationship or relationship or companionship, the essence lies in human needs based on Maslow's hierachy of needs!
One of the best things I've seen in a while amongst all this brainrot content.. respect to you for coming up with something so fun, wholesome and real..need more videos/short movies like these from you..the concept, the cinematography and the story is just lovely and also true irl..bless you bro and looking forward to see more videos like these ✨🧿💯🙌🏼❤️
cinematography, story, characters, acting and dialogues everything was perfect. Just loved it. 😭 And bruh did the fusion and thought we would'nt notice 😂😂
It was so good chetta... So inspiring to see something that started small, grew strong, and still delivers pure entertainment... this beer, I mean. Cheers! 🍺
Nice movie from nirmal and team , it is a new content for me about gen z relationships. I liked the cinematography and the story was organic . Nirmal's character was so relatable for me
I like the direction and storytelling, the lights and feels. Captures the contemporary times and you can tell that the movie is for the new generation I also like how comic time were so prevalent with the music edit hehe. Great job. It up from here almost like a new wave for creators to create their own long form content or whatever they wish for. Also the female protagonists metallic nails were so cool 😎 🎉
Honestly, I don't know what position I hold to say anything about this screenplay nothing short of a masterpiece. I really enjoyed every ounce of this videography. Without a doubt the color tones, the writing, the acting, the comedy, and especially the song selection and composition. Simply fabulous. I hope I'm not judging here, but the only negative I found was the dialogue delivery during conversations between the couple. Nirmal, we all know your vocals and niches are simply masterful, and Kripali your comedy timing during the podcast was excellent, but what I'm judging the dialogue delivery on is the broken leg bedroom scene, I won't go further (due to spoilers), that I felt was a little off. Even though I understand this is how life works, I still hate the ending, not because it wasn't well-made, but it just hurt my personal feelings. Overall, we don't get content like this very much, and I'm hoping very hard for the future that this kind of storytelling picks up. Hats off to all who contributed making this wonderful experience. Sincerely, Adhyan Singhania.
Haven't yet seen the film, but really happy for Nirmal and everyone who has put work into this. This is such a big progress towards Independent Filmmakers and Writers. LFG

No one likes to invite problems, it's just old people were brushing off issues and even staying with wrong people at times.
the cinematography is CHEF'S kiss. watching him for the longest time from parotta act to directing films. PROUD OF YOU BROTHER! the first of many 🧿

Wow... You nailed it. Its like a dream come true moment for you. It was really good and the the cinematography, music and the retro lights were too good. Congratulations Nirmal and Abishek. Finally the boss beer gang assembles here. 🙋🙋
Now that's what I call a Nirmal Pillai movie ❤🧿
real asf
OH MY GOD IM FULLY CRYING RN WHO LEAKED MY LIFES SCRIPT???? THIA WAS SO GOOD 😭❤
Uncle doesn't know Instagram reels but knows a bumble notification when he hears one... Loving the magic, so will jgnore the logic fails...great effort thambi!!! Bangalore never looked more beautiful ❤
Uncle may be in bumble with fake id😅😅. Appreciating your keen observation😊
appreciating your micro eye😃
@@SusansStoryTable 😁ohh you found it
Man ❤ This one is a professional entertainer.
This is literally a masterclass in almost every field. The Color Grading itself took my my breath away like wow.
Excellent craft. Well done Nirmal. Portrays the confusion right. Call it as siuationship or relationship or companionship, the essence lies in human needs based on Maslow's hierachy of needs!
Y'all I don't think we are supposed to watch this movie for free ... This deserves recognition... Its soo damn good lol ❤
The reasons for her ghosting felt so relatable and i could feel the guilt i felt while coming clean like that😬
One of the best things I've seen in a while amongst all this brainrot content.. respect to you for coming up with something so fun, wholesome and real..need more videos/short movies like these from you..the concept, the cinematography and the story is just lovely and also true irl..bless you bro and looking forward to see more videos like these ✨🧿💯🙌🏼❤️

It was so good chetta... So inspiring to see something that started small, grew strong, and still delivers pure entertainment... this beer, I mean. Cheers! 🍺
IT'S PRETTY HARD TO CONVEY THIS KIND OF SUBJECTS WHERE IT SHOUILDN'T BE FELT LIKE CHAOS AND THE DIRECTOR DID IT WITH MUCH CONVECTION❤❤❤
Nice movie from nirmal and team , it is a new content for me about gen z relationships. I liked the cinematography and the story was organic . Nirmal's character was so relatable for me
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the cinematic and direction and edit…. Lovely Nirmal

my fav too
It's beautiful! A definite color grading and directorial lesson for some film school! Kudoss Nirmal and team 🥳
Sincerely,
Adhyan Singhania.
The Bata shoes look way more put together and they’re really good quality! Weren’t crocs considered sloppy back in the day? 😂
Haven't yet seen the film, but really happy for Nirmal and everyone who has put work into this. This is such a big progress towards Independent Filmmakers and Writers. LFG
BROOOOOO IS CHALENGING THE WHOLE CINIEMA INDUSTRYYYYYY FR (p.s please add cautious warning during the smoking scenes)
saw on an insta reel! and I must say superb movie! kudos to the entire Starcast and production team!
