11:15 I used to live in Portland actually and I found the buzzing/whirring of idling Type 1's quite soothing, amusing, even comforting. Some if not all 2's and 3's also make quite good sounds when slowing down or accelerating. I'm not as fond of the 4's and 5's sound wise, but I had to leave Portland just before the opening of the Green Line and haven't been able to make it back so maybe it's just nostalgia talking?
A little update on more very strange propulsion MAX cars: Quite a few Type 4’s all in the B (parlor) end: 402, 405, 412, (sometimes), 413, 417…405 is especially very creepy sounding w/ loud smack-like clicking coming from under the train in upper section B end, if not the weirdest of all the MAX trains.
Hey, if you’re still planning to ride car 321, it has been fixed/repaired to it’s original sounding motors. Rode it today hoping to record the sounds but unfortunately it’s back to normal.

Hey there! Your channel has some really interesting content! I have started to ride the MAX a ton recently and I also have been paying attention to the streetcars. Do you have any idea why some street car signals have both a red AND yellow horizontal bar? And then a lunar vertical? The signal in question is across from the SW 5th/Mill MAX stop on the green line. It stays as a red bar until the streetcar shows up. Then it goes to the center light which is a yellow bar, and then the yellow bar flashes a little before turning to a lunar column on the bottom light. It's also a 3M PV signal which is super cool! Also I was on a MAX the other day on the orange line and it seemed like it was like really lurchy. Like as it moved it would kinda sputter in fast/slow fast/slow instead of smoothly at the same speed which was definitely a "weird car". Sadly I don't recall the number. Anyways if you ever need footage of something I would be glad to let you use anything I record! All you have to do is ask. I have tons of signal videos and more. Thanks, and cool video!
To add to Car 116. 116 doesn’t have a replacement door like the other phase 2 type 1s which have replacement doors with the phase 3 paint scheme.
Nice video! Your content is super underrated and needs to be seen by way more railfans, lol.
Couldn't agree more

Green line is okay imo. My closest MAX line is the green.

The operator can control the hvac from the cab
Car 523 (in the parlor cab end) seems to make a loud “clicking” noise when stopping or accelerating at random times
I’ve also long wondered why it’s so hard to hear the motor/propulsion on the type 1’s. Seems so only when the HVAC Is off.

Also 320B is the orange signs! I rode it tonight.
And #112 don’t remember if this one was mentioned but it’s got some wind noise at speed too
