Meh, imo Ike deserves to be in more as he is a core part of Nintendo's history (He's the most favored male Fire Emblem character, which is now a major Nintendo IP). But then again, this isn't made by Nintendo so I guess that Cloud has an equal chance too :P

Here are some solutions for the people who don't like this game. One. Don't watch the video. Two. Don't download, and/or play the game. And as for people complaining about the character sprites, maybe they'll be fixed in the update. So quit complaining. And it doesn't matter which fan game is better than which. If you like a certain fan game, good for you. But don't argue in the comments. It's just plain ridiculous.
This game looks really good! I love all the changes, yet still keeping classic features such as board the platforms. Keep up the great work! Can't wait to play the complete product!
This is what we call "Development Hell". When inexperienced project managers (or lack of ones) allow for too many distractions and can't handle cutting ideas or features in order to have a timely release. Happens to any project that refuses to set a release date because "They want to make sure to give the best possible experience" (which really translates to "We don't like stress and letting a portion of our vision go").

SSF2 has a bit of all: Some characters, some stages, some graphics, some modes, etc. Crusade is focused on what the majority of fans want, but not looking to the other things: Very much characters, very much stages, a bit to no graphics, very much modes. Conclusion: SSF2 is better to the ones who are like Mario, equilibred, a bit of all. Crusade is better to the ones who want a very big quanty of characters, etc. and don't care for graphics. If we analise all and compare... I only can say, from my language: "THE TRETA HAS BEEN PLANTED". Another thing, SSF2 has a easier way to use Online Mode. PERSONAL OPINION I think SSF2 is better than Crusade, graphics, some characters I love (Naruto, ZSS and Ichigo), and the graphics is amazing to a Flash game. However, SSF2 don't has full 360° mobility, the only point (for me) that makes SSBC better than SSF2. Renember: IT'S ONLY MY OPINION. And yes, I know you'll say: "But you only told about the graphics... Blah blah blah...". Graphics can make a game better. Look at Minecraft, there are people that say: "It need better graphics", some don't play it thanks to graphics. It's already #3 game more playable on the world. Imaginate if the grafics was amazing. It will go to... A number better than #1.
4:53 When Goku does the dragon punch, he uses it against another Goku (with Piccolo's color scheme), Shadow (to some the Vegeta of the sonic universe) ,Mewtwo (sometime compared to Frieza) ,Kirby (sometimes compared to Majin Buu) ,and Lucario (he's purple and based on an animal that been has portrayed as a god in Egyptian lore, like Beerus). Clever Project Crusade.
I can't wait to see what the new version looks like, I do hope that they give Sonic his Figure 8 running animation eventually. BTW I loved the video and I subscribed. : D

I may have always been more of a smash flash fan, but I appreciated this games quality and great roster. super excited for the the update and if the controller support works well I may play it a lot more than I do currently. hooray for shantae!

By those standards, this game has been very good. while it may not be perfect (the game is horribly balanced, the animations are stiff, the css looks amaturish with their custom art, and the control has been lacking), The amount of effort put into the game is apparent, and this trailer shows they are addressing my many problems with the past demos. But they use custom songs, sprites, menus, effects, and other things so I would say the quality and effort in this game is pretty high by fan game standards. Only Project m (which at the end of the day is a mod of an established game despite added content and system changes) and Smash flash 2 (which has been in development for almost a decade at this point) are fan games that I would say are superior to this one in quality and game play. If this game starts to feel more like a proper smash game control wise and becomes more balanced, it could maybe top the other games on roster alone.

Okay, I didn't really like Crusade before because keyboard controls were awkward as hell (and I had a few minor gripes with the graphics that I can overlook because it's a fan game and because its mechanics are cool), but with official controller support with light-shielding and stick sensitivity, I can see myself playing this constantly during my free time. New build looks very promising, and I love the new game mode idea. Keep up the great work!
