2 years ago I give up to make a demo 3D card game because the existed tutorials was to confusing, finally found a good and comprehensive one. Thanks to shared your method!
does this only work with a transparent background? :( I put the card object to my other project but a weird gray screen appeared around the card object. is there any way to solve this problem?
we need a full tutorial with whole process of making exact same card! this is just great dude ! but it would be greaTER to see a full tutorial on this one!!!
I don't think that full tutorial is that important. All you need to now is some texturing a basic materials with shader nodes and you should be good. I just wanted to cover the basic workflow to help people creating this effect and the rest is on you :)
Thanks! For my original card I made simple material with voronoi texture to create stars. I also extruded face inside to give it more thickness from inside.
Oh my goodness! I've been looking for a simple tutorial to do this! Thank you so much!
Thanks for a clear and concise tutorial. This effect now makes sense to me, thanks to you.

Select the face that is not "invisible" and flip the normals
Hey mate amazing tutorial! I appreciate it:)
Could you maybe explain how you adjusted the inside of your card?

Here's how the material inside looks: imgur.com/a/wCQhxC0
@@valdosh69 emmision and holdout need swapping, this adds the transparency to inside and stars to outside
Thank you!!!!

Here's how the material looks: imgur.com/a/wCQhxC0
can this be exported into a game engine?
how did you select the edges
I would like to ask how to change the inside space to white color
Just change the color of Emission material in shading workspace :)
bruh....Why literally only 45 seconds in and the edges won't bevel...wtf
