Wisconsin-Whitewater has a size advantage against most opponents (e.g., 6'2" center Johanna Taylor and 6'0" forwards Aleah Grundahl and Abby Belschner) and gets a lot of offensive rebounds and second-chance points.
On offense, they employ an "inside-out" strategy to get close-to-the-rim touches for their post players but also to spread out the defense so that they can kick the ball back out to the guards (e.g., Yssa Santo Domingo, Kacie Carollo, and Rebekah Schumacher) for uncontested three-point shots.
On defense, they employ a "denial" strategy that forces a lot of turnovers and steals.

The down-low post matchup between Smith College's Morgan Morrison (6' 0" forward) and UW-Whitewater's Aleah Grundahl (6' 0" forward) will decide the game. The 3-point shooting contest between Smith guards Amelia Claremont/Ally Yamada and UW-Whitewater guards Rebekah Schumacher/Kacie Carollo will also be important.
Even if Morrison succeeds in containing Grundahl, however, that leaves 6'2" center Johanna Taylor and 6'0" forward Abby Belschner with matchups against shorter Smith players (5'10" forward Elle Jo Whalen and 5'9" forward Katelyn Pickunka).
