Don’t let that experience put you off. Keep coming back. The more frequent your travel in the US, the better for you because you would have good US entry travel history in the CBP system database which will make you more a trusted traveler.
Korean Air fr MNL with onward connection to Minneapolis on Delta fr Seoul. Usual questions ask ng CBP Officer upon arrival-purpose, duration of the trip at kung ano dala. Then I was asked to proceed to a nearby room where there were others too, mostly Afro/Asians. Medyo na-stress ako kasi 1st time to experience it at may connecting flight pa ako to Baltimore (last fight for the day na yun). Observed the proceedings. Napansin ko na may luggage na yung ibang nasa room kaya kusa na akong lumapit sa counter n asked the CBP officer if I need to retrieve my luggage. Then I was finally called in the counter. Same questions asked. And finally he stamped my passport.
Happened to me, too, on my very first entry to the US 8 years ago. Ironic that it was a Filipino-American immigration officer at SFO who set me aside and recommended a second line of questioning. Mild pa nga yung nangyari sayo kasi in my case, I was held up in the interview room for 4 hours and my luggage and personal handbag were searched and combed through! Nakaka violate ng privacy TBH. But after many questions asked, the officer decided to call my mom who was waiting for me at the arrivals. The officer finally let me pass through after my mom's answers to the same questions matched my earlier statements. So stressful! Since then pabalik-balik na ako sa SFO where my family is based, and no issues encountered. I think most us will go through this at one point or another, but for as long as we are consistent in our answers, we should be fine. These officers are trained to see through lies and bad intentions. Cheers!
@@jownie101 wow praise God despite the 4-hour holding period ay nalaman din Naman nila that your intention in entering the US is good. I can only imagine the stress that you and your mom had to go through that time... Happy to know that there have not been any issues after that incident. 😊
Yes you should have declared your credit cards. I think you should not have been stopped at sfo. Your passport would have been full of entry stamps. Imo power trip yung immigration officer
I agree with you. Yun nga talaga ang reason. Dapat ay sinabi ko talaga na I'm going to use my credit cards but in case there are stores that don't accept cards, I have this amount of cash with me.
Hi there’s a reason kung Baket nagkaroon ng interrogation interview sa immigration kc naka magkasunod na taon may US entry ka then Medyo Mahaba ang vacation period mo so isang factor din yun, just saying Lang po.

I can relate to your situation. Kahit ilang beses ako bumibisita sa US, naharang ako sa San Francisco last February. Halos same question sa akin.
