  • Good question. And a hard one to answer. :)
We give our recommendations here: simple-shot.co...
We base our tapers on ammo size. Follow our standard sizes here for our general recommendation, then fine tune from there.

I would like to see a chart or graph of sling shot like a scout LT. shooting different thickness and tapers of flat bands with 3/8" steel balls .and 5/16" steel balls. and 7/16" steel.
To see the trajectory at 10 meters 20 meters 30 meters , and speeds Just seeing the flight on paper would help me understand what is really going on.

hands down the most informational UA-cam channel. I love it so much. the slingshot community isn't super big, but that's one of the best parts, cause you can find the answer to any of your questions. thank you guys for great videos! (p.s do you think you could show us a video on how to use the taper plastic sheet things? thanks)

Simpleshot does such a good job at explaining all the techniques behind slingshots. It's very difficult to find a company who will explain every detail of why they do what they do. Simpleshots the best.

He's spot on with .7 being a bit hot for Ott and 3/8th. I have two similar frames setup with simple shot .6 and .7. I get soundly slapped with .7 shooting 3/8th steel. I don't with the .6, plus I can pull it with less effort and that result in better accuracy.

@@simpleshot Agreed. Compared to inner tube rubber and the crazy heavy tubes on my first wrist rocket there is no contest.
I put some really short .7 on an Ott and discovered the hand slap wasn't bad at all and it didn't lack power. By short, I mean I can see the pouch in front of my eye. It's a bit awkward at first, but it let's me reuse shorter rubber after it tears.

I like it that way. More power :3 I can punch cans up pretty good with 3/8th using the .7 bands.
