I can’t believe it didn’t find this sooner. Thanks for capturing and sharing this timeless memory. Precision in music and marching, we were quite the band in those years! I was in the band from Fall ‘81 to Spring ‘84 and marched in the Tournament of Roses Parade. My sister was in this specific band grouping continuing the outstanding tradition. Fabulous to watch how spectacular the band was.
Band mom What happened Wm Allen had around 170 musicians in the band from 1982 to 1986. Had two daughters in the band. It needed seven buses for traveling and two airplanes when the band Participated in the 1984 Rose Parade.. O, they also had a band front traveling with them. Thank you Wm. Allen Marching Bands-1982 to 1986, for your your dedication. Miss not being able to watch you. That includes other bands also. Hopes showing bands like these may help the younger generation gain an interest in good music again
Does anyone have a video of the half-time show from fall of 1983 before the band went to the Rose Bowl Parade? It was my senior year and I would love to see the performance. Great memories!! Always brings a smile to my face when I see the old band videos.
Thanks for posting! It was great to see our band from when I was in it, and it brought a lot of good memories. About 280 marching members back then. Any more videos of that era to post? That would be great!
It's so said that the Allentown School District let the music programs go down the crapper...Bethlehem bands are both in tact....I don't understand what happened
+Chenla Long I'm in the band as if right now and I'm a forced to to quit because I can't make it to summer practice. I'm at dieruff HS and the band director is making everyone quit and their is only 28 in the band. but since he made me quit, he's begging me to come back. I'm going back because I got a scholarship to Yale University for football and basketball. and I'm studying to be a bio-medical engineer. and your right no one is in the band.

In 1982, the year I graduated we had move than 250 members in the band. It is a shame to see what it is now.

Yeah. In just 30 years we went from over 300 to barely hitting 40. It's unfortunate, yes. But the people we do have are very dedicated.

That's unfortunate. I'm a snare at William Allen
