I have thrifted an Off White Virgil Abloh Tshirt ($3.99) and Christian Louboutin Sequin High top Sneakers ($5.99). I almost passed on both because I didn't know if they were real. The price was so cheap, I took a chance (we can't return in Chicago). I didn't want to sell a fake so I sent both into TheRealReal and they authenticated both. Tshirt sold for $395 & Sneakers $595. It's very hard to tell if somethings are fake, especially when you you are in thrift store and super excited. Thanks for the info so helpful.

I have bought moncler in the thrift. My way to tell is use a bar reader on the holographic tag. It will take you to the website and give you the style. Not really sure why that didn't appear on the how to detect site
Thank you for the info about the fake jacket. I have stayed away from designer handbags because I am not confident about which ones are fake.
Monclear clothing (winter jackets) has a hidden authenication code (often under a logo patch) that you scan to check if it is not a fake. But, fake items now have the same code and I have seen a group of boys easily changing it to get the real Monclear landingpage when you scan it. So, it is even harder to spot a fake one!

one of my favorite thrifts that use to have the best prices now upped all teh prices with special tags however a few times I got to teh register and they charged me more for an item saying it is NWT eventhough there are no signs anywhere that says NWt items will be priced more on the way out. They do not even have a register so I can not even get a receipt ... yeah I now only go to that thrift when they have a fill the bag sale but even them items with a special tag is not included in the fill a bag sale so yeah I rarley go there anymor e

I’m not a reseller, I just buy for myself & I’m always leery of buying some of the name brands that I find especially purses. Fake stuff is getting harder to spot!
I got a 1990s burberrys trench knowing its probably fake but man am i having a hard time authenicaing. The stitching, tags and lining all seem accurate, but i cant get over how cheap the buttons look.
They shouldn't look cheap or be solid colored. They should have that marbled look although they weren't stamped Burberrys back then. The buckles should be real leather if you look closely on the cuffs.
@@marykuettner752thanks so much for the tips. Ill have to check the sleeve cuffs. Yes the buttons don't have the Burberrys staml which is what made me doubt the authenticity.
