Thanks Dane. To be honest with you I had to stop and think about how to tie a bowline with the rabbit and tree method. I have been using the slip knot version too long! Give it a try, I think you'll like it.
OMG!!! I’ve never seen this method; it’s so easy! I’ve taught tying bowlines in USCGA boating safety classes, aa well as organized sailing classes. That’s 30 years without knowing this technique. Very well done! I suppose this would be a bit more difficult with larger lines?
I'd imagine pulling a really large line back down thru the slip knot would be more difficult. One can only try. I always struggled with the rabbit method. Now this is the only way I can tie a bowline unless I really stop and think about it.
