We put one in yesterday. But ours is only about 16 ft down. Water is awesome tasting. I have farm animals, and decided we needed one just in case of power outage.
Worked like a charm. I just got a pitcher pump to put into an old hand dug well that we used when I was a kid. It is just right on the line of will it work or not. It is about 27' to the static water level. So just a bit on the deep side. I might have to try this option if it doesn't. Thanks for the video.
Great job, but could you make a more in depth video explaining the parts needed and how they are assembled? You showed everything pretty much already assembled. My static water level is 35 feet so I know this would work great if I could understand exactly how you make it. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks 👍
I want one of these to water my outside plants. We have city water now. Someone had a big idea to change us over 20 years ago and pay for it. I have an existing well somewhere I just haven't found it yet. 😂
It just don't get much simpler than that. Only thing I see wrong with it is the handle floating up. I think you could drill some holes in the side of the 3/4" and let water in and it wouldn't float up. And since the water in it is still in the well water you won't be lifting that weight.
hey great job! now that it has been in for a while, is it still working the same as when new? will friction wear the plug end smaller and then it will not work as well? again, great job! I have a welll that is 150' down, don't know what the static water level is yet (soon to fing out-buying some rope today). thanks for the idea!
Also am above Wiggins, so 👋hi neighbor. Got a question- we have a 2"well with a pump above. The inside pipe that goes to pump I believe is 1" ? It has foot valve on it, Could we add to it with the T for spout and put 1/2" pipe in original 1" pipe and handle on it. What you think? Trying to figure out just incase.
It was a pre-existing well on the property that hasn't been used in 20 plus years. We checked water level and well is over 60 foot deep but static water at a little over 30 foot.
@@walkerfamilyfarm7695 how do I figure out my static water level? I’ve been researching videos such as yours to figure a way to add something like this to my existing well if that is even possible. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance 🙂
You could put in a weep hole a couple feet up from the bottom of the outer pipe. Then water will slowly drain back down after done pumping, but it will take longer to bring water back up next time
Brother! This is bad ass! Thanks a lot for sharing this with us. Best economical design I’ve ever seen

I installed one using this model last month. Works great!
Awesome Idea, thanks so much for sharing, your a blessing, again , thank you so much for sharing your intellect with the masses..
That is amazing. I have been thinking of putting one on my well. Thanks!!!

Nicely Done!! 👏🖒
Thank You. God Bless.
Fantastic. Thanks
Country boy can survive. Awesome. Going to try same here.
So far this looks like the simplest design I’ve seen but I’m a dummy and need some instructions!!

Outstanding!

Nice thanks dude
Well done.
About how much clerance is there between the 3/4'' cap and the inside wall of the 11/4 pipe?

What size is the outer pipe with the foot valve?
Want to try this, but my well is 140' deep. Not sure if its feasible.
My static water line is 80 feet. Will the pump pick up water that far down?
Well that's a hell of a lot better cost than a bison pump. Thousands for those. 👍
That’s exactly why I’m watching this video…..
Very nice setup. And good thinking ahead.
Any concerns with bugs/debris getting in between the two PVC pipes?
Not at all
You think that would work with a 220 ft well?
hey great job! now that it has been in for a while, is it still working the same as when new? will friction wear the plug end smaller and then it will not work as well? again, great job! Rope is too heavy, I use fishing line with a washer.
It's been down 10 months now and still works wonderful. It takes about 3 pumps to get water flowing and then its never ending.
It works amazing when we not using it much we still go by and pump every couple weeks.
What kind of pipe is that , that has a female end to it? All the pipe i can find is just male ends that you have to use couplers to add length.
what size shoe do you wear
Is the well hole lined with anything? any gravel around it and at the bottom? what, if anything, prevents dirt from clogging the foot valve?
It was a previous well on property so we used the casing that was there
Thanks for the video. Do you know of this will still work on a deeper well? 100-120 feet?
I do not see why it wouldnt it is pulling up easy at this depth.
Where did you find he continous lengths of white PVC pipe??? I don't see any couplers. I like that!
use Pex or black poly pipe
@@llkwildcatt I would think the natural "memory" of coiled black poly pipe would make this very difficult to do. Am I wrong?
We used the couples that are made on the pipe
@@walkerfamilyfarm7695 Thank you!
I've always wanted to do this. How did you drill the hole?
It was a pre-existing well on the property
@@walkerfamilyfarm7695 what is your static water depth?
Handy Dandy remover you my kind of folk thanks fer the video have been thankin along these lines
Can you tell me how you installed the casing pipe!
It was an old well on the property that hasn't been used in years.

I feel like this is a stupid question, but do I need to leave the spring in the foot valve?
Yes
Did you use sch 40 or thin wall?
Nobody uses thinwall pvc for projects like this. I see this same comment on almost every well video.
How much did it cost to get the hole dug & how deep to water?

add a wooden dowel inside the handle to make it stronger.
will freezing weather be an issue?

I can only find 10’ lengths of pipe
Make sure you don't use any ground chemicals or you're gonna be drinking it.
What is your static water level?
30 foot deep
YOU DIDN'T SHOW HOW YOU DID THE WELL, YOU ALREADY HAD THE MAJOR JOB DONE, GETTING THE HOLE IN THE GROUND. OK TC
The well was already on the property from previous owners we just pulled the old well and run new casing.
~60 feet "deep well" LOL!
Anything deeper than what a "pitcher pump" will draw to the surface is considered a deep well. That's about 30 feet
How to do the spout? and list of items needed
