It's official. The Norwegian version is superior to the English version. If you win the national selection, please consider to perform it at least in both languages in the ESC (like Israel 2005 for example). To be honest, TIX's decision to sing in English was one of the best ways to make this song a success at ESC. In English, we can understand the song better, especially with the good message behind it. This was reflected in the televote results which were quite good (8th in the semi-finals and 13th in the grand final). I still think the Norwegian version is better tho, that's why I listen to it more often, but I should have realized earlier that artists should be free to compose their own songs in any language they want. He said when he won that he would sing the song that he won with in the Eurovision final. But every Norwegian that like tix, are not used to hear him sing in English, so we would like hearing him sing in Norwegian. But he also said that it’s fear that if he does it good in the EV final, the audience should know what the song is about. Norway also has a record of getting 0 points or last place in Eurovision, and most of those songs were in Norwegian.. so we gotta learn from our mistakes.

In the 70s we could also sing in English for a short rime and some of them were placed last or near the bottom. We have also done well with songs in Norwegian: 2 vicories, 1 2nd (the only one we have) and 1 3rd place. We do also have other top 5 - 6 places with songs in Norwegian.
I do like this but for me the English version is far superior and (again just my opinion) is what made him victorious. I really hope this does well at Eurovision 2021 regardless of which version he sings. Absolutely fantastic melody.

He was first seen on the reality show Paradise hotel in Norway some years ago, some years before that he made party songs for the graduates in Norway called Russ. The reason he is wearing a big coat, bandana and sunglasses is because its part of his character (and he has Tourettes, so its also to hide his tics). When he was younger he was bullied and called Tix, so he decided to take ownership of that «name» and used it as his artist name. His real name is Andreas Haukeland and he is also a songwriter for international artists. He wrote the big hit «Sweet but psycho» for Ava Max which was a big hit in the UK and has collaborated with Flo Rida fex. He said the following in a newly interview about his new and personal songs: Two years ago Andreas Haukeland wrote a will and wanted to take his own life. A bit about Tix for those who doesnt know him. He was first seen on the reality show Paradise hotel in Norway some years ago, some years before that he made party songs for the graduates in Norway called Russ. The reason he is wearing a big coat, bandana and sunglasses is because its part of his character (and he has Tourettes, so its also to hide his tics). When he was younger he was bullied and called Tix, so he decided to take ownership of that «name» and used it as his artist name. His real name is Andreas Haukeland and he is also a songwriter for international artists. He wrote the big hit «Sweet but psycho» for Ava Max which was a big hit in the UK and has collaborated with Flo Rida fex.
He said the following in a newly interview about his new and personal songs:
Two years ago Andreas Haukeland wrote a will and wanted to take his own life. Now "Tix" is the soundtrack to others who are in difficult times. In recent years he has written very personal songs,
The bigger Tix got, the more Andreas faded away, says the star.
Tix says that it was not the intention to make a character, but at some point in his upbringing, Tix and Andreas became two different people.
He says life as a superstar can go hard beyond life as a private person, and make you feel a lot alone.
- I stand on the stage, entertain a couple of thousand people, and when I leave the stage I am alone again. I travel alone, come home to an empty house.
However, he believes the character as Tix also has something to teach others. To dare to defy others' perception of what is right, and go their own way.
- Tix wears a fur coat in the summer, he wears sunglasses indoors and says things out loud that you absolutely should not say. Tix is in his own head the best in the world. I think many should try to live like that.
But on May 17th (Norwegian national day) in 2018, Tix felt like anything but the best in the world. He simply wanted to take his own life.
At a party, he completely collapsed, and was desperate to get out of everything.
- I just went home and had decided that enough is enough. I wrote a farewell letter, and then I wrote a will and then I found a marker, and then I wrote contact info, all my passwords, my PIN codes on my arm.
- I sat on the floor and cried, and I was so scared, Tix says.
A conversation with his cat Findus who came and lay in his lap was the rescue. This is how the lyrics to one of his many hits were, "I don’t want to live, but I don’t want to die either». Song called «Jeg vil ikke leve»).
Another of his songs «Tusen tårer» (A thousand tears) is the sequel to «Jeg vil ikke leve "which came out last year. The song is about it being hard to hold on to a thousand tears alone. "Jeg vil ikke leve" (I dont want to live) is the desperation for a moment, while "Tusen tårer» (A Thousand Tears) is about the depression that follows. "Tusen tårer" are all the tears you hold in, all the tears you know you will cry, and all the tears you have cried but never stop. And it is symbolic that there is actually a concrete number on the number of tears. Because it will stop in the end. ”- Andreas Haukeland (TIX)
