For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone would prefer a glass back on their phone. It's more liable to break. It's slippery. And most people put cases on their phones anyway.
Exactly. At what point did everyone lose their minds? How did we get to glass back phones? Instead of making phones, the most commonly dropped items next to babies in America, more durable, they’ve gone for more breakable!?! It’s ridiculous.

Most people do put cases on their phones, so then why should it matter if the phone has a plastic back or a glass back? if you have a glass back you put a case on it, if you have a plastic back you still put a case on it, especially when phones cost as much as they do now days. I use a clear case on my phone so you still see the nice back color.
I believe some people subconsciously see their phones as an accessory with the same value as jewelry - more shiny expensive materials... I'm fine with the polycarbonate rear but maybe that's why some people like it that way? - just a thought.
The back of the phone is polycarbonate, if you know anything about polycarbonate it's stronger and more durable than glass.
But it don't feel nice

I have seen the s10 lite in real which has the same polycarbonate back.it looks and feels cheap guys trust me it looks more like a A series phone.
I'm not saying this is a bad phone,this is a great phone for its price but don't defend this plastic back guys
@Sshsh HHshsh I'm talking about the lite version of the s10 series bro that had the same plastic back with Gorilla glass 3. Everyone was complaining oneplus compromising on wireless charging at 700usd which only few people really use while samsung is including that but compromising on build quality

A true fan edition should have a headphone jack!
With everything going blu tooth on cellphones do we reallly need a headphone jack anyways? I guess it depends on preference and how much blu tooth headphones 🎧 will cost. You don't have to buy the most expensive headsets. I wonder if a pair of blu tooth headsets will come with the Samsung S20 FE. All the phones i have had so far had a headphone jack and came with headsets but I know many of the new phones are starting to get rid of the headphone jack.
@@asoka2000 there are a few reasons for this. Firstly choice. It used to be the case that everyone got 3.5mm earphones included so we have loads in the house. Second battery. The wired earphones don't use power so when you're caught with low battery on your wireless earphones it is a useful back up. Third quality. Some people have high end wired earphones that they prefer to use. Less latency too. Finally I object to the idea that phone makers are pushing us to buy additional wireless earphones. My point is that if they are doing this for "fans" then that means enthusiasts and I believe the majority of enthusiasts want a headphone jack

@@asoka2000 there really is no major downside to having a headphone jack either. The space it takes up internally isn't that much so battery size is barely affected. The cost is very low. It's out of sight so not ugly. It doesn't stop IP68. It's a no brainer really

Purchased the Samsung Galaxy S20FE 5G and I am totally blown away by the quality of this phone. I am more confused about most of the reviews talking about the back and color of the phone...Most of the people I know who have not taken care of putting their investment into a protective case are walking around with broken glass.

I just got my S20 fe in lavender last week 💜 switched from my iPhone xs max and god I'm so happy I did. I personally love the plastic back because now I know I won't have to spend hundreds on fixing my broken glass back lol. Also 120hz display and being able to upgrade the storage, the camera is crisp and beautiful, its just 👍 👌 don't let the plastic back deter you from this phone cuz thats just dumb

Saakshar Shah I have the non plus variant and yes it’s fine. Was just replying to the guy saying that this Tab is to introduce SD 865 to European markets, when in reality SD 865 is last years processor. The 865 plus is the newer variant for this years flagships.
@@ChillydontCap There are plenty phones with the 865 on the EU market. Difference here is, that Samsung would introduce a Snapdragon in THEIR phones to the EU market for the first time; we've never really had the opportunity to get the SD here so it's a "first" in some way.

Ranting about "confusion" regarding naming scheme and having more options or questioning its existence because of it just seems unfair. They're offering flagship level specs at a budget range...just enjoy the variety!
I think he explained quite well, why this is a bad thing. People who just bought a Note 20 will be disappointed. Why not call it Lite like the S10 Lite. I think when consumers are too confused they may turn to another brand, which offers a clearer choice, although as he mentioned, most companies do it today, too many handsets that are too alike.
I'm assuming you're from India, there's the OnePlus 8T which is cheaper than the FE and better in every way, it's 50 pounds cheaper in the UK and 10000rs cheaper in India

I traded my S9 for this and am not sure if I made a mistake or not. I like the louder speakers, 120hz and larger screen. Not sure about the videos playing in 1080p when im used to 1440p, that is sort of an annoyance and not being able to adjust the resolution 🤔

Right now in amazon and other places they are selling the 5g snapdragon variant of the s20 fe for 599 dollars.
I have to wait until November to get a new phone. I thought I was getting the s20 ultra or s20 note ultra but now I'm seriously considering the FE, mainly for the 865 chip. Thank you for the breakdown.

@@katonadani99 First, the screen, this has a 1080p 120hz super amoled display, the 11 has a 720p liquid retina, the bezels on the s20 fe are so much smaller than he 11, also, no notch, processor is better on the 11 but not by a lot, the 11 has a wide and ultra wide camera, while the s20 fe has a wide, ultra wide and a 3x zoom telephoto camera, battery on the s20 fe is better, thats not all

My reaction isn't why but rather "finally". The whole pricing scheme of the S20 and Note 20 lines makes sense now that this phone has been released at that price point.
The S line is the one that attracts more consumers, therefore pricing the Note 20 sensibly wouldn't guarantee sales and wouldn't allow them to sell the Note 20 Ultra as expensive as they do.
While the A line of phones have always existed, they finally offered flagship specs at high mid tier price.

Hello! I am stuck between choosing the FE snapdragon, or s20+ exynos. What is the camera like? A huge difference? Is it worth losing out on camera zoom and general photo taking to get the snapdragon? My heaviest usage is being on call and using the camera, sometimes gaming and photography. I usually carry a battery pack for day trips anyway so is it worth losing out in the s20+ features for the snapdragon? I've watched so many s20 videos my brains gooooone. Just how different are the processors??

Well just like Apple, Samsung has to make their money too, if Samsung would've released this phone back with the rest of the S20's nobody would've bought the more expensive S20's. I think Apple and Samsung has now realized that people are intimidated by thousand dollar phones but $699 is the sweet spot.
What's the point of buying the $999 iPhone 11 Pro when the $699 iPhone 11 offers 90% of the same experience as the Pro and Pro Max. This is why the Galaxy S20 FE exist and why they waited to release it later, also this phone is gonna compete with the iPhone 12.
Then don’t buy any phone. Sit there and keep waiting for the latest and greatest. And just never get anything.

And even if people can't buy these flagships, Samsung offers phones in every category, fromm 100$ to 1300$ and even 2000$ so there a plenty of choices

Greetings from Orange County California. Very nice review. Now it's time for my rant about something that I think is "balls up", which we don't say here in the states 😄, but what I think is a long these lines.
So my beloved LG v40 went belly-up about a week ago. Fortunately I have my LG G6 as a "good enough" backup.
So I looked around and, being on a fixed retirement income, I have to get the most bang-for-my-buck and get my phone from the carrier on payment plans. So basically I settled on the dual screen LG velvet... well, at least what I thought was going to be dual screen. Just like the V60.
So I go see it in the flesh, as it were, in my T-Mobile store it and I say, okay that's what I would like and I tell the clerk that and the first thing he says to me was it doesn't come in dual screen. Mind you, the store is not busy so there are five clerks standing around having this conversation with me and none of them knew did the LG velvet came in a dual screen version. ( I'm going to say "version", although I guess it's really an "accessory" but that's not even the point). So after I proved to them that it does,... T-Mobile doesn't carry it like that.
Currently that phone at T-Mobile is $600 (ok 588). And it is supposed to be the next step down phone from the V60.
The single-screen handset version of the V60 at T-Mobile, is $650. $700 if you want the dual-screen version.
So naturally I thought that the dual screen version of the Velvet would be the advertised $600. Nope. So when they told me that the single-screen was the $600 I figured, okay 50 more bucks gets me the dual screen like it does with the V60. Guess again, Michael.
If you want the dual-screen version of The Velvet you pay T-Mobile the $600 for the single screen and then you order the dual screen "accessory" from LG for $200.
So. get the dual screen LG v60 for $700 or get the step-down phone, the Velvet with a dual screen for $800 😜
But two things make it ge even better. You just can't get any ole Velvet dual screen accessory. You have to get the one that is specifically made for the T-Mobile version of The Velvet.
Now on top of that, you do get a slight bonus if you get the T-Mobile version of The Velvet because it comes not with the Snapdragon 765 chip, like every other version in the US, it comes with the Media-Tek 1000c. HOWEVER, and I don't know if this is because of that chip or not, but you have to be careful what case you would get for the T-Mobile version of The Velvet because the build of that version is slightly different than the other Velvets in that the camera lenses are offset by about 3 mm. So if you don't get the right case the lenses maybe off center in relation to the whole or heart of the case may even cover a portion of the larger lens.
So4 features, the LG velvet is the much better phone. HOWEVER, for me, even the single screen handset it's just a bit too large for my needs. So even getting the single screen version ( can't really think of any pressing need I have for the second screen. maybe if I had when I would become a gamer. But I'm not one now) for $650 wouldn't suit me, so I think I'm going to be getting the S 20 FE.
But man, talk about consumers having to be up on THEIR game.
And I have no idea who LG asks before they start designing phones, but I don't think it's a lot of The Average Joe's that use them
I feel like people in this comment section are letting their bias talk for them 😭 he's confused as to why a phone that's basically an S20 priced at $699 (at least in the US) is being sold now, when not too long ago, it was released as the S20 with a starting price of $1,000.
Plus the Snapdragon 865 instead of Exynos :)

@TheyLoveJoey the only downside to the iPhone 12 is that it isn’t smooth scrolling with a 60hz compared to the s20 with a 120hz. The front camera on iPhone 12 is 12mp while the FE is 32mp. As for battery life, it really depends how well you use it in terms of battery saving. Dark-mode, lowest bright setting, less apps, closed notifications etc. can help drain you battery less.

Do yo think Samsung should discontinue the note line and move the s-pen to the z-fold line up? fold has a bigger screen to write or draw on
The plastic screen on the z-fold line would potentially be damaged by the S Pen.
100% they should do this. But they won't. They can make the S-Pen work on the Fold but that would kill the Note line off. Ain't no dummies at Samsung.

The S21 will receive S pen Support, not sure bout Fold 3. Cause it will not make sense to still release 3 flagships per year. The Fold will replace the Note's usual release.

Yep me to. I hated the glass back since day one. Yep where the removable back now? I seen it on the rugged version of this phone?
When you hold a s20 in one hand and a s20 in the other, you really can't tell the difference. The plastic back isn't even noticeable.
The only thing that stood out to me immediately was the screen brightness. The FE screen is noticeably darker on the highest setting. It's even more pronounced in daylight.
Also, the s20 screens all have a near infinite viewing angle. The FE screen distorts colors if not viewed from head on.
But those are fairly minor complaints. 12 ram is nice, but not necessary (yet).
do you know whats the differecne mainly ? for example in europe, this is actually the only one samsung you can get with snapdragon as 5g variant and being actually cheaper then s20 with exynos. Beside that its only galaxy fold 2.
I bought it yesterday for $315. After nearly a year, it's still the greatest phone within the price range.
