I actually don't think Xilonen was the reason her signature weapon got nerfed. I think it was because the weapon was going to be way too powerful on certain units that aren't intended to scale off defense, such as Jean and Qiqi. With Jean, because main stats aren't really doing that much for her, you could afford to run her on a degenerate triple defense 4p VV build, and she would have just enough def to hit the 3k benchmark. As long as you could get enough ER through substats or team energy, she would give 40% VV res shred and 36% dmg bonus and essentially become Kazuha with teamwide heals. The Furina/Jean core would be utterly broken and completely outclass any other team healer (i.e. xianyun, baizhu) outside of teams that need their specific niche or reaction. At C0 Furina, this core would be competitive even with C0R1 Xilonen/Furina, since the 40% extra dmg bonus Xilo gives is offset by the lower fanfare generated off her single target heal. Qiqi sort of fits in the same boat, although more niche. Because Qiqi has one of the highest base defenses in the game, it's actually not too difficult to get her to the 3k threshold, thus letting you still use proper mainstats for 1 or 2 pieces. The 36% team dmg would make her the best on-field driver for Furina teams, badly outclassing Kokomi who cannot come close to providing that level of buffing with any catalyst option currently. While I would have loved to see this chaos, I can see why hoyo wanted to avoid this direction lol.

If Xilonen was to make additional changes either for beta or even the final release, I would love for her normal attack and plunge attack mutipliers to be buffed even more. The best Geo main DPS characters (Navia, Itto, and Noelle) are all claymore users. Having a viable sword for the main DPS role seems refreshing to me. I am planning on getting C2 R1 Xilonen and while I already have a C2 R1 Itto, I may at least try a Main DPS build for Xilonen if i get bored as using her as a support. I feel it is more fun to use less popular characters or more unorthodox playstyles for popular ones. One reason why I got Emilie at C2 R1 is because is unpopular but is very strong if properly invested and in the right team.
Nah, her multipliers are decent but not atrocious therefore it's 'balanced' in proportion to her kit. With her shred and buffs partnered with her constellations, any major change in her multipliers might surpass most top-tier DPSes in the game. The last thing that Hoyo wants to happen is creating a broken/overpowered unit.
Despite her being potentially one of the best support you're still asking for a buff, too greedy lol. If she became the best of both worlds, as a support and DPS, then there's no reason not to choose her over other geo counterparts. Very bad for players' (with Itto, etc.) and mihoyo's perspective.
@darkmori8526 I admit that maybe I am being a little greedy. But I honestly want Nomal Attack main DPS Xilonen to be equal to Itto and Noelle, not superior. I don't a situation like how Albedo was directly powercrept by Chiori (at least in most aspects). Hoyoverse could have easily restricted Xilonen to just a support. For example, they could have given no defense scalings for geo infusions normals and plunging, and made it that so that her elemental burst healing and elemental skill resistance shred did not work at all if there were 3 or 4 geo units on the team. I just think her dual purpose nature was a little more equal.
@@JaxxBaxRaxor Your suggestion is very bad. Noelle wet rock team is a thing, and by replacing Noelle with Xilonen you can easily bypass the condition. A better Noelle (res shred, minimum hitlag, heals, etc.) that can be paired with Furina, boom another game breaking character. I'm not against flexible character, but what you're suggesting is another Neuvillete in the making (OP af with minimal effort) that makes other DPS obsolete which is again bad for mihoyo.
The only reason I got Mualani was for exploration. And she does good dmg but playing her feels somewhat clunky. Like sometimes you vape, enemy dies in one shot and sometime you mess up and wonder why the enemies aren't dying. And I'm using Dehya as the pyro applier which should be pretty consistent. I found kinich's gameplay more statisfying than Mualani but on the surface it would seem like Kinich's gameplay would be tricky because of all the rotation. Well for now they aren't replacing any of my abyss teams.
Loving both Mualani QoL updates; but when he mentioned Mualani was getting QoL, for some reason I assumed it was about the missiles in caves and what not. XD
While they’re fixing Mualani kinks, they better get to fixing the targeting of the aoe missiles. I can’t even count how many times those hits have missed, hit the wrong enemy, or been delayed by 3-5 seconds before hitting. The burst targeting is also pretty jank, sometimes hitting the enemy immediately, and other times, taking a trip for 3 seconds before hitting. If these are addressed, Mualani would just further cement herself as one of the best dpses 🔥

She's kinda like Hutao, but much easier because you don't need to animation cancel, and just need to learn how to vape enemies correctly with your setup

Yea you can have that uptime almost 100% compared to Furina that you still need to stack up her fanfare and is not always 75% uptime and only like 40-50% if you only got her to C0/C1

I was really considering getting her R1, but after the nerf I think I’ll pass. Not only did they cut 1/3 of a team wide buff, they also added this goofy ahh self buffing mechanic for a character who doesn’t deal damage (hello Baizhu, hello Kokomi). I hate passives like these, it’s nothing but a waste of space Now it’s very obvious that I will go for C2 instead, but maybe if I get lucky I will try to also get R1, no hype for that anymore though. I was so exited that they removed crits for her and focused more on buffing a team and now they ruined it again

Getting the weapon is much more valuable than C2, not merely because of the apples to apples comparison. It's also an apples to oranges comparison. Having a weapon means that you can transfer all the effects to another user, and, while the unintended user may not make use of all the effects, it still enables you to potentially make niche builds that will get your job done better. Like, for whatever reason you would be using Albedo for instance; not only does the sword have higher stats than Cinnabar Spindle, it's also much more cohesive to his gameplay as a support. Geo doesn't react with anything; having the Elemental Skill DMG DEF scalar bonus from Cinnabar Spindle affect Albedo's skill damage is pointless by comparison to having a universal partywide Elemental DMG Bonus that provides more value than a selfish damage ramp, so it is way better. Chiori could also make use of it because of her mostly construct off field gameplay, but her signature does give her much more raw Geo damage with that massive 80+% Crit DMG stat. If any more sword units are released that have DEF scaling, this will be great as a universal weapon much like how Aqua Simulacra or Staff of Homa are good because of their raw stat and flexibility with HP scaling. The sword was the real problem to be honest, because it is WAY too universal of a damage bonus for how easy it is to get off, especially for sword units that don't need to scale as much like Jean, Xingqui, or Lynette. Heck, even Kazuha could make use of it by sacrificing the EM that used apply single swirl or double swirl, to now having triple damage boost instead (albeit, at lower scale) while still shredding RES and still having a majority of his kit's buffing.
Soooo happy they fixed Mualani. I made a CS report about the issue since I noticed a lot of her attacks would miss or her burst would go through enemies. Hopefully all the tracking issues has been fixed.
@alexprus7953 mine hasn't done that yet but I notice if you jump into the lava with her skating, she will sometimes take damage. Like the lava actually hits her when it shouldn't.
Omg this I'm having the same problem with Neuvillette. Whenever I use his burst,most of the time he doesn't even drop any water droplets. So I definitely think it's a bug since it's been almost a YEAR already and hoyo still hasn't fixed it.
you need to use skill to mark enemies and then either use a charged attack (unless in AoE with multiple enemies marked, ideally go through the rest of the team first (between skill and charged attack) to have the mark evolve after 5s and you'll get more BoL) or defeat marked enemies. Unless you just mean the issue with BoL resetting after exiting the domain or re-starting it. I doubt they'd do anything about that at this point.
Wait..... Mualani have a targeting problem. I though I was really terrible at the game on every time I waste burst or do my shark attack and end up missing on enemy bearly move. They almost never buff a character after release.

Misleading information... Xilonen wasn't the one that received a buff. It was a 5star weapon. Those are two different things, which makes the title misleading.
For me Xilonen c0r0 is good enough. For my team Nuevilete Furina Kazuha & Xilonen is already have a ton bonus dmg so 25.6% from her sign is not worth my finite primo 😂 Altho its pretty good for non-Furina team like mono pyro or arlechino. Maybe if her rerun will feature another good weapon I will pull, I don't want chiori weapon so it not worth the risk
I was considering trying to grab her weapon since im close to pity on weapon banner and have garuntee, but Chiori's weapon would be pretty useless for me so its probably not worth the risk. Unless it ends up with Nahida running with her but thats unlikely.
Im planning to play her with yoimiya. since Xilonen is a healer and provides interruption resistance at C1, is it strong enough to not run Yoimiya with a shielder? Im planning to get her C1 just to support Yoi becos kinda tired of having her sealed in a shield to maximize her damage potential

Mualani has so many bugs that fixing this is not that relevant considering sometimes her multitarget elemental abilty passive don't work even thoug enemies are targeted the rockets dont work and only the first enemy take the damage ( damage nerfed by her other elemental ability passive) not talking about the amount of times that the burst miss the target or the amount of times you hop on and off the shark becouse you obviously press the elemental ability 2 times ( since some times you can't activate it with just one touch becouse you are stunned ) they have so many things to fix to this character.

Silly comment. IMO all characters should have a meaningfully amount of damage. It's because most supports have beyond garbage damage that people have to ultra invest on DPS units. And it makes no sense, Healers in MMO dealt less damage because they had to multitask between dealing damage and healing/cleansing teammates. In newer games, Supports do 0 damage because they have putrid damage scaling on abilities while also being forced to use stats that don't contribute to damage anyway, it's way too much.
yeah they should just have moved that 10% dmg bonus to a 30% def bonus to help out poor itto since she's so damn bad right now (and benefit noelle sneakily)
I mean like, chiori will probably rerunning with her as the leaks say, so the weapon banner is still good. So if u get chiori's weapon thats probably still a win.

Glad they are fixing mulani, personally i think her clunkiness is justified keeping in mind the huge numbers she gives. I actually left gi for wuwa, as combat is superior there, and gi’s combat was not doing it for me anymore. But now with mulani, the best part is, it doesn’t feel i am fighting at all. She just surfs through enemies and bites with shark. This total change of fighting mechanics was what gi needed to counter competition like wuwa. These days i play gi more, love mulani’s fighting style, also her damage is so huge for f2p’s specially that she changes account value. Eg: that azdha boss, i could not kill with my hutao cause he kills her, even after running bennet etc. No other dps i have that does as much as hutao, so i was never able to solo him. I thought i need zhongli just so that my hutao could stay alive long enough to kill. But after mulani, in just 2 days of building her, she does 140k vape, without buffs. She killed azdha so fast, he couldn’t do half his transformations. Also her movement is super useful to quickly surf away from boss’s range. Sorry for this long ass message, i just love mulani too much, i think i need to get myself checked😅
i dropped wuwa because combat was pretty bad. i made a macro for a combat rotation and it beat the tower with basically no supervision. that's how braindead the thing is.
For a few days after the Nerf i was still coping for that weapon, i mean 25% buff is still strong but after recalculating, it's just not worth the pull anymore i guess everyone is just gonna use Fav now

Is a hybrid Xilonen viable at all? (Def/Def/Crit on Hero set) I did some rough stat calculations with her sig before this update and she was still able to hit over 3000 def for maximum buffs from the weapon so I'm thinking it could be decent
From what ihv seen your better off going triple def with crit substats if you wanna go hybrid because using a crit circlet will drastically nerf your healing
That is a good observation. Peak Patrol Strong is still a excellent weapon but it's in Hoyoverse's interest to keep the weapons from being *too universal. Especially now that weapon banners are cheaper (only one fate point to guarantee the preferred weapon instead of two).

No its even worse the weapon is a nerf for a lot of characters. Albedo,Jean and even Qiqi would benefit from that weapon. I am sure some people would consider pulling only for the weapon or even 2 copies. Xilonen is a good support, but her C0R1 is now not that special its barely on Kazuhas C0R0 level, without the grouping.

Before the nerf the 3000 DEF was the perfect point ,that leaves room for more different builds. It makes her harder to build with R1. Now you can just run her with Favonius that 25% dmg from her R1 is not worth it,not even for her and even less for other characters.

It is you need 3200 DEF for 10% less dmg ,instead of 3000 DEF . It makes it slightly harder to build her ER ,because you could get away with a ER goblet or Healing bonus Circlet with decent substats,now thats not the case anymore ,you want all her Artitfact set to be DEF and hope to roll for some ER

I remember vividly using Mulanis burst and it flew into a ROCK and not the enemy in front of me

Despite her being potentially one of the best support you're still asking for a buff, too greedy lol. If she became the best of both worlds, as a support and DPS, then there's no reason not to choose her over other geo counterparts. Very bad for players' (with Itto, etc.) and mihoyo's perspective.
@darkmori8526 I admit that maybe I am being a little greedy. But I honestly want Nomal Attack main DPS Xilonen to be equal to Itto and Noelle, not superior. I don't a situation like how Albedo was directly powercrept by Chiori (at least in most aspects).
Hoyoverse could have easily restricted Xilonen to just a support. For example, they could have given no defense scalings for geo infusions normals and plunging, and made it that so that her elemental burst healing and elemental skill resistance shred did not work at all if there were 3 or 4 geo units on the team.
I just think her dual purpose nature was a little more equal.
@@JaxxBaxRaxor Your suggestion is very bad. Noelle wet rock team is a thing, and by replacing Noelle with Xilonen you can easily bypass the condition. A better Noelle (res shred, minimum hitlag, heals, etc.) that can be paired with Furina, boom another game breaking character.
I'm not against flexible character, but what you're suggesting is another Neuvillete in the making (OP af with minimal effort) that makes other DPS obsolete which is again bad for mihoyo.
The only reason I got Mualani was for exploration. And she does good dmg but playing her feels somewhat clunky. Like sometimes you vape, enemy dies in one shot and sometime you mess up and wonder why the enemies aren't dying. And I'm using Dehya as the pyro applier which should be pretty consistent. I found kinich's gameplay more statisfying than Mualani but on the surface it would seem like Kinich's gameplay would be tricky because of all the rotation. Well for now they aren't replacing any of my abyss teams.
Loving both Mualani QoL updates; but when he mentioned Mualani was getting QoL, for some reason I assumed it was about the missiles in caves and what not. XD

While they’re fixing Mualani kinks, they better get to fixing the targeting of the aoe missiles. I can’t even count how many times those hits have missed, hit the wrong enemy, or been delayed by 3-5 seconds before hitting. The burst targeting is also pretty jank, sometimes hitting the enemy immediately, and other times, taking a trip for 3 seconds before hitting. If these are addressed, Mualani would just further cement herself as one of the best dpses 🔥

She's kinda like Hutao, but much easier because you don't need to animation cancel, and just need to learn how to vape enemies correctly with your setup

she is still cracked with her sig, from 75% to 65% wont matter much and still is really good, nerf wont change anything significant.
Yea you can have that uptime almost 100% compared to Furina that you still need to stack up her fanfare and is not always 75% uptime and only like 40-50% if you only got her to C0/C1

I was really considering getting her R1, but after the nerf I think I’ll pass. Not only did they cut 1/3 of a team wide buff, they also added this goofy ahh self buffing mechanic for a character who doesn’t deal damage (hello Baizhu, hello Kokomi). I hate passives like these, it’s nothing but a waste of space
Now it’s very obvious that I will go for C2 instead, but maybe if I get lucky I will try to also get R1, no hype for that anymore though. I was so exited that they removed crits for her and focused more on buffing a team and now they ruined it again

Getting the weapon is much more valuable than C2, not merely because of the apples to apples comparison. It's also an apples to oranges comparison. Having a weapon means that you can transfer all the effects to another user, and, while the unintended user may not make use of all the effects, it still enables you to potentially make niche builds that will get your job done better. Like, for whatever reason you would be using Albedo for instance; not only does the sword have higher stats than Cinnabar Spindle, it's also much more cohesive to his gameplay as a support. Geo doesn't react with anything; having the Elemental Skill DMG DEF scalar bonus from Cinnabar Spindle affect Albedo's skill damage is pointless by comparison to having a universal partywide Elemental DMG Bonus that provides more value than a selfish damage ramp, so it is way better. Chiori could also make use of it because of her mostly construct off field gameplay, but her signature does give her much more raw Geo damage with that massive 80+% Crit DMG stat.
If any more sword units are released that have DEF scaling, this will be great as a universal weapon much like how Aqua Simulacra or Staff of Homa are good because of their raw stat and flexibility with HP scaling. The sword was the real problem to be honest, because it is WAY too universal of a damage bonus for how easy it is to get off, especially for sword units that don't need to scale as much like Jean, Xingqui, or Lynette. Heck, even Kazuha could make use of it by sacrificing the EM that used apply single swirl or double swirl, to now having triple damage boost instead (albeit, at lower scale) while still shredding RES and still having a majority of his kit's buffing.
Soooo happy they fixed Mualani. I made a CS report about the issue since I noticed a lot of her attacks would miss or her burst would go through enemies.
Hopefully all the tracking issues has been fixed.
I'm more happy about the fall damage resistance, since sometimes she'd make a small jump and drop dead (probably due to her speed)
@alexprus7953 mine hasn't done that yet but I notice if you jump into the lava with her skating, she will sometimes take damage. Like the lava actually hits her when it shouldn't.

A sig weap is not a total nerf as you can still enjoy her buff same as Kazuha 1000 EM VV, regardless if you have her weapon.

Fav is and always will be great, but the sig is still busted. Pre-nerf it was absurdly broken, but it's still crazy strong.

Omg this I'm having the same problem with Neuvillette. Whenever I use his burst,most of the time he doesn't even drop any water droplets. So I definitely think it's a bug since it's been almost a YEAR already and hoyo still hasn't fixed it.
you need to use skill to mark enemies and then either use a charged attack (unless in AoE with multiple enemies marked, ideally go through the rest of the team first (between skill and charged attack) to have the mark evolve after 5s and you'll get more BoL) or defeat marked enemies.
Unless you just mean the issue with BoL resetting after exiting the domain or re-starting it. I doubt they'd do anything about that at this point.

Mualani has so many bugs that fixing this is not that relevant considering sometimes her multitarget elemental abilty passive don't work even thoug enemies are targeted the rockets dont work and only the first enemy take the damage ( damage nerfed by her other elemental ability passive) not talking about the amount of times that the burst miss the target or the amount of times you hop on and off the shark becouse you obviously press the elemental ability 2 times ( since some times you can't activate it with just one touch becouse you are stunned ) they have so many things to fix to this character.
Still awaiting the biggest Mualani buff news: the pyro archon!

Silly comment. IMO all characters should have a meaningfully amount of damage. It's because most supports have beyond garbage damage that people have to ultra invest on DPS units. And it makes no sense, Healers in MMO dealt less damage because they had to multitask between dealing damage and healing/cleansing teammates.
In newer games, Supports do 0 damage because they have putrid damage scaling on abilities while also being forced to use stats that don't contribute to damage anyway, it's way too much.
yeah they should just have moved that 10% dmg bonus to a 30% def bonus to help out poor itto since she's so damn bad right now (and benefit noelle sneakily)

Glad they are fixing mulani, personally i think her clunkiness is justified keeping in mind the huge numbers she gives. I actually left gi for wuwa, as combat is superior there, and gi’s combat was not doing it for me anymore. But now with mulani, the best part is, it doesn’t feel i am fighting at all. She just surfs through enemies and bites with shark. This total change of fighting mechanics was what gi needed to counter competition like wuwa.
These days i play gi more, love mulani’s fighting style, also her damage is so huge for f2p’s specially that she changes account value. Eg: that azdha boss, i could not kill with my hutao cause he kills her, even after running bennet etc. No other dps i have that does as much as hutao, so i was never able to solo him. I thought i need zhongli just so that my hutao could stay alive long enough to kill. But after mulani, in just 2 days of building her, she does 140k vape, without buffs. She killed azdha so fast, he couldn’t do half his transformations. Also her movement is super useful to quickly surf away from boss’s range. Sorry for this long ass message, i just love mulani too much, i think i need to get myself checked😅
i dropped wuwa because combat was pretty bad. i made a macro for a combat rotation and it beat the tower with basically no supervision. that's how braindead the thing is.

Is a hybrid Xilonen viable at all? (Def/Def/Crit on Hero set) I did some rough stat calculations with her sig before this update and she was still able to hit over 3000 def for maximum buffs from the weapon so I'm thinking it could be decent
From what ihv seen your better off going triple def with crit substats if you wanna go hybrid because using a crit circlet will drastically nerf your healing
"sub-dps" Xilo isn't worth the effort, much easier to build her as a pure support

That is a good observation. Peak Patrol Strong is still a excellent weapon but it's in Hoyoverse's interest to keep the weapons from being *too universal. Especially now that weapon banners are cheaper (only one fate point to guarantee the preferred weapon instead of two).

Before the nerf the 3000 DEF was the perfect point ,that leaves room for more different builds.

Now you can just run her with Favonius that 25% dmg from her R1 is not worth it,not even for her and even less for other characters.

@@hollow_universe42 The only team where Navia needs C2 Xilonen for Xilonen to actually support her is in Navia - Xilonen - Furina - Xianyun. In a normal Navia team with like Bennett + Xiangling, C0 Xilonen is sufficient and you can go R1 to boost the team damage (requires less pulls than 2 cons)
