Holy crap!!! What a hunt!!! 3 shots????? Mix a rut crazed, preoccupied buck with a hot doe nearby and a stupid silent recurve & you get 3 at bats…..remarkable & unforgettable for sure!!!! Wow!! Congratulations!!!!
That was awesome, I’ve never had this experience with a buck. But I’ve emptied a quiver at the same doe my first year hunting with a bow which was my first recurve and never did shoot her lol but this was awesome I can’t believe he let you get 2 shots off before the 3rd connected
Ha. I have been there, except I did not connect and shot all 4 arrows in my quiver. Pope and Young 8 pointer eventually just walked off. I was all tore up. Hehee. Can't believe he went down that quick. Shot looked a little back. They lose their minds in the rut.

After seeing an accomplished archer / hunter take 3 shots to land a good one, i feel a little more self respect about my year so far, LOL - Great Job Buddy !!
I once saw a video where a guy arrowed a big doe and a big buck was pushing it around and he could had got the buck..but was tagged out. That is a perfect scenario to get a second deer if you have the tag!
Great work, great buck! Thanks for sharing it! I have to try that squirrel walk. I've tried a deer walk from Asbell and The Fair Chase guys, and I think I do "ok," but I worry if I am grunting enough or too much.
The squirrel walk, in my opinion works much better than the deer walk. With the deer walk, the deer tend to pause and watch intently in the direction of the sound. With the squirrel walk, they ignore it completely. In this hunt I squirrel walked all the way into my tree and got up it without being detected by all those deer in the area. The big buck and hot doe were only 40 yards away from my tree when I got in.

I always had this rule, never give me a second shot, but you took it to the next level
