It's a good video but at 10:55 , you explained wrong when you said that enzyme working with lock and key hypothesis is not affected by the non competitive enzyme , Non competitive enzymes attach to sites of enzyme other than active site and alter the shape of active sites making them less complementary to the substrate So Both enzymes the one working with induced fit and the other working by lock and key are affected to the same extent by the non competitive enzyme Thus the statement 2 is wrong due to the explanation that both enzymes are affected at same extent
No dear, an enzyme which follows lock and key hypothesis is rigid and doesn’t change shape easily. So non-competitive inhibitor has little effect on this type of enzyme. Whereas enzyme with induced fit is flexible and changes shape easily so non-competitive inhibitor has great effect. The effects to both enzymes are not to the same extent.
If enzyme is working by induced fit model, it will be flexible and will active site will easily change shape when non-competitive inhibitor binds. So this enzyme will be more affected by non-competitive inhibitor. If enzyme works by lock and key hypothesis, it’s rigid, binding of non-competitive inhibitor will not be able to change the shape of active site. There will be little or no affect on enzyme.
