@@wilfredogaldamez1157 I think it does not matter at that state. Seems like that car have been flooded with water for a couple of days. Everything electronics are wasted anyways. Especially if its salt water. But if its clean its easy to replace or sell parts.
These shells are sea slugs, and can be found in freshwater - it may answer your question. Fabulous detail. If I was the owner, I would donate it to a kids charity, so they can learn mechanics and strip it down, and repair everything, then sell it for their next project 👍
@@Mike604 If its already been paid for (by the insurance company) shame it cannot be used on private ground for kids to repair, then learn to drive safely on it? I was taught to drive in a field, and controlled the 'art' of skidding. 👍🇬🇧

Y'all did an amazing job! Hate to see such h a nice car get ruined. Looks like the air intake and intercooler have been upgraded maybe the turbo but hard to tell and possibly the exhaust! Have a blessed day everyone.
If I were the owner I would, and this is coming from someone who owns a Subaru. I would go to places and find other junk Subarus and get the parts I needed to fix it. That's a beautiful car and I'm really sad that the guy crushed it.
The problem with a flood car, even one thats been as well as this, is that they tend to have the absolute WORSE and untraceable issues to fix. Not only electrical connections, but the computers within the car itself short out or their joints corrode. And replacement parts for a new-ish car like this, are EXPENSIVE. The owner was right in parting it out and then crushing it. He probably got a nice little insurance payoff as a total loss, and make a nice profit selling the GOOD parts. Things like fenders, doors, glass etc etc, especially original OEM parts are almost invaluable. Especially the drivetrain

Fantastic job!! Here in São Paulo, Brazil, we had a situation where a rare Lamborghini was flooded in an underground garage after a severe storm in the city. It was recovered, at the cost of a lot of effort and costs... A hug to the friends of the channel!
I haven't seen the shells yet in your video. If they're not snail shells, it's possible they're from mid-Cretaceous Period, when Nebraska (and other midwestern states) were covered in a shallow sea. I've found seashells near my dad's place in Oklahoma that came from around that era.
There are also some snails that have the same type of shell, but there can be also shells from the river, beacuse there are some water creachures whitch have shells like that.
I kid you not about a year ago I was down by a pretty much obscure river, a tinted suburban pulled up to the gravel path (keep in mind I’m fishing at the time) they were middle aged well kept men with black boxes with shells kept in foam inserts and they used those hand crank spiral hole digging tools and dropped some of the shells into the holes and some of them were thrown in the water and scattered across the sand/gravel/mud bank. They didint see me as I was tucked half into a hollow tree so I could lean on something. A few weeks later I was back down there and a film crew and a older man with sandals and a beard was describing how he located the shells and would extract them. Basically 99% sure half this stuff is made up.
Did some digging: it’s *very* hard to find Cambrian era shells in Nebraska. Those formations haven’t really been exposed by erosion. They’re likely freshwater shells, per replies to my comment.
Thoroughly enjoyed this transformation! So sad to see a Subie go down like this…but it’s giving life to many other Subaru’s! You guys did it justice, keep these Subie vids coming!!
I work with the original owner in Omaha. He was parked in his condo’s garage downtown and Omaha got around 8 inches of rain in an hour. It flooded the whole garage with raw sewage. It is not drivable and an environmental hazard. We tried to talk him into buying it back to collect all his aftermarket parts but he wanted to just be done with it.
In all honesty if while you had the interior out if he wanted to save the car he could have just replaced the entire wiring harness with all new electrical and do full service on car it would run and drive just like a new car 🤷 but insurance is a tricky animal

Electronics. Modern cars run a lot of cables, computers, sensors, etc. everything sensible to corrosion and shorts caused by water in the wrong places. Often these cars could be “fixed” and would work for weeks, even months. But eventually problems will pop up. From small annoyances to potentially lethal issues.
