Agree with you to a point but having no WRs never worked out for anyone. Pitt just has a long history of drafting great WRs that happen to be divas. Thats a Pitt prob, not an NFL prob. Need dominant playmakers on the outside unless you’re Mahomes, apparently.

Brian the RB’s are on rookie deals, as are George and Calvin. The free agent wr’s that they have are being paid appropriately. Don’t spend money on players who aren’t worth it. TE’s are on rookie contracts as well. Pat F will get money that he is worth. The guards are the most experienced players on O-line the rest are on rookie deals. So the Steelers are spending appropriately based off talent and experience that they have right now.

The bears last year and the Steelers this year have comparable weapons. If anything the Steelers are a downgrade because DJ Moore is a beast. Pickens could become that but he's not there yet.

I wanted Fields s to win the job. Still do. But if he can't, I think Russell needs to take control of the position.
A lot of people don't understand just because someone has the talent to be great doesn't mean they will. Fields work ethic has been questioned before he can change that but I feel like that will take some time. It took Geno years to bounce back from a bad situation. The bears gave him the job instead of letting him earn it and it has been downhill from there.
Although Mike Tomlin has squashed any QB battle talks, do you WANT it to be a battle and let the best QB win?
Justin Fields reads REALLY make me nervous to make him #1. But if Russel Needs more weapons because if they lock down Pat and Pickens were gonna see A LOT of sacks

Justin Fields isn't a rookie, he's a QB who has had a different Offensive Coordinator every year of his career thus far.
Justin Fields needs receivers who can actually catch & O-Linemen who can actually block - not watching Russell Wilson.
Conversely, if Fields is on the bench there will be a bidding war for him by the NFC teams that faced him twice a year...
... i.e the teams the Bears General Manager forced to go with their plan B, before making Justin Fields available.
On the bright side, the Steelers will have a trade opportunity for the current QB of the team that lands Justin Fields
I think he has a chance to be the QB of the future here.
He had throwing issues. Kirkochains called for Mooney because he knows he was poorly used. DJ Moore had to make most of his plays around the Line and get a bunch of yac. Kmet was underutilize. Justin Fields needs to make faster decisions with the ball. That will fix his oline issues. He needs to fix his throwing that will fix the wr not catching his ball. Finally he needs to sit like Patrick mahomes did to absorb the game and better understand the how to win games.

Fields isn't the future, I don't know why people are riding his meat so hard when he's done absolutely nothing but lose, yeah we all know he was on the Bears but if you put any other QB that's said to be good on that team and they win more games than they did with Fields, when Fields gets his shot to play you'll all see that he's trash and you'll be calling for the backup and say Trade Fields for a vending machine
