Great question! Its to guarantee that I 100% make the reload. In a stage its much more costly to not look and miss a reload then kill time having to try again. Regarding the combative side of it, same thing as if you were in a g.fight. Instructors will teach to get off the X and find cover, which requires taking your eyes away to locate that spot, but that's much better than running blindly and tripping for the sake of keeping eyes on the target. Another example would be looking at the holster when re-holstering. Some say to not look at the holster and keep your eyes on the target, but the question would be why holster if the target is a threat. Aside from that, looking the gun into the holster is just taking that administrative safety precaution. Not looking at reloads or reholstering is easily done, but not something I actively try to do unless the situation demands it.
It depends on what I’m working on for a given drill 👍 If I’m working on draw to first & adding a reload, I’ll make do with double action, but if I’m focusing on just reloads, I’ll put it into single action, throw on the safety, and work on reloads that way 🤙

Ok thank u
I noticed you used the double action trigger pull after you reloaded. Was that intentional or accidental?
