      I do not understand the lady commentator. She says peaty must give more advance to james guy! But peaty has already done his best from 7th to 1st place with 0.68s advance to james guy. Why not tell to luke greenbank on the backstroke not to be too far back from ben murphy? Then peaty shall give more advance to guy...🤬

    Before the race, the US team was viewed as an obvious underdog. Apple and Andrew were heavily judged, Murphy missed all the expected golds. Dressel was hoped to carry the team. The almighty British team was the clear favorite. Winning gold and breaking the world record by 0.5s is the evidence of a truly great success story.

      Lol no, they were heavy favourites. Apple's ability as a 100m freestyler wasnt questioned at all. Murphy was a solid second and a half faster than Luke Greenback in the individual 100m back and Dressel had just broken the world record in the 100m butterfly. Not quite an underdog team

    • @kingsarenas1536
      @kingsarenas1536 3 роки тому +7

      @@dynasty0019 Actually they were, especially Apple. Andrew lost the 200 IM, 100 Breaststroke, and 50 freestyle. Murphy did not defend any of his titles. Apple got the most criticism, because it was the first time USA missed the podium (4x200 freestyle relay) with a slow time (in their standards) of 1:47.31. The coach is somewhat right: swimmers bounce back, but come back better.

    Hope in the worlds 2022 , USA will further lowered there WR time with ..

      Italy got their medal out of pure luck... just look at Russia, Rylov fucked up his backstroke completely, he was 51.9 in his individual swim, and was 52 high here in the relay. Kolesnikov didn't do his best either, he can swim a 47.1 on a flat start but only swam sth around 47.3 in this relay, so if u really do the calculations, Russia can beat Italy easily if they were in their best form

Prior to Olympic, Russia were very strong, even stronger than USA, but they failed in a disappointing way, esp due to Morozov and Kolesnikov underperformance. But we cannot ignore what Italy's performance in that free relay which was very impressive, taking the silver behind only USA.
      Based on that previous free relay final, I believe their performance in this medley relay too, seeing how good were Thomas Ceccon in backstroke, Nicolo Martinenghi in breaststroke and Alessandro Miressi as the anchor.

Russia had no one else to put on the relay team, therefore they had to use Kolesnikov again but left out Rylov. Remember, BOTH Kolesnikov and Rylov was on the team back in 2019, which the latter anchored the free relay and won silver behind USA. U can't say that Russia is better than USA, cuz USA has undoubtedly the most experienced relay team ever! u can only say it might be close if all swimmers were in the best form. i know how good the Italians are, not questioning this, don't really need u here repeating the same stuff again and again. do some research first, then come here and talk.
