É sempre bello vedere oltre che ascoltare queste glorie! Gli anni migliori sono già trascorsi ma bisogna vedere da dove si parte! Fà comunque tabula rasa di ogni soprano attuale(perdonando il periglioso salto d'ottava del recitativo!)

Gencer était une immense cantatrice ,de même trempé que Callas .Mais à mon avis elle n'aurait pas dû chanter l'entrée d'Abigaille à ce stade de sa carrière car elle avait un peu perdu les moyens nécessaires pour affronter un air si périlleux .On l'entend rater le contre Ut précédant le saut de deux octaves .C'est dommage .
Je suis d’accord. Et la voix était un peu trop légère pour le rôle. Mais quel immense artiste!!
Tu spoile et c'est pas bien ahahah !! Ceci dit la voix est bien moins abîmée que celle de callas ou caballe après tant d'années de scène. Gencer est injustement sous côtée cest une artiste exceptionnelle et ses pianissimi sont les plus beaux du répertoire. Ps : c'est pas si raté que ça ya bien pire même chez des jeunes ^^
@@arboretum1153 parmi les plus beaux piani. Il y en a eu d’autres. Il y a eu - heureusement- tellement de chanteuses exceptionnelles qu’il y a de la place pour tout le monde, et pour des goûts différents sans moquer/railler ceux qui en aiment d’autres. Par exemple j’adore les piani de Gruberova à la grande époque. Je sais que certains ne l’aiment pas et cela ne me dérange pas du tout. Ce qui est triste en revanche ce sont les commentaires moqueurs/méchants sur les réseaux sociaux. Cela ne sert à rien, à part sans doute faire plaisir à ceux qui les écrivent! Gencer était une chanteuse sublime, éblouissante, incandescente ❤️

Mark ... :: It takes great self-confidence to sing this aria in a concert, including the cabaletta. I was never a fan of her voice until YOU-TUBE. I realize now what I have missed. Gencer is not Callas ; and Callas is equally not Gencer. They are on an equal foundation w / this aria, IMO. Gencer has been spectacular, elsewhere, w / this music also on YOU-TUBE !
@electricxcircus :: I'm not stupid enough to argue w / a Callas fan. It only causes ill-will w / opera fans ... but I will go back & listen to Callas' version & get back to you ...
@electricxcircus ● OK ! I listened. OK ! Callas' voice has greater power & dramatic intensity ... below & at the top ... the version I heard didn't have discernable trills ... I heard the version where Callas was "26" years old ... which could be wrong ... I don't know ... I didn't do the research for that video.
My earlier point was simply that this aria / scene is ridiculously difficult ... I don't think it is a good idea for composers to disrespect the human voice like this ... anyway ... Gencer should be given some credit ... she is not as dramatic as Callas ... but that shouldn't diminish her singing of this hard-ass music.
In my opinion, I think Mado Robin's version is the best ! 😊

Era una grande cantando e interpretando pero en esta aria no estuvo a la altura una pena yo la admiraba para mi prima donna absoluta .maria callas por los siglos de los siglos en nabuco hizo una creacion
