I love that Mary dreamed of being a teacher and preaching the scriptures when she was meant to be the mother of the answer of the scriptures, Jesus.
And also (I'm not very religious so I'm speculating here.) Mary's dream of being a teacher will come to light because she's the one that is teaching Jesus everything he knows.
@@maryann778 she and Joseph basically raise him up in the Word(meaning how God instructed us to), until he is of age(we believe the age of understanding is about 12) when he wanders off to the temple while his family is in Jerusalem for the passover holiday and not only listens to the teachers but he starts teaching too.

I’m not sure why everyone hates this depiction of Mary so much. She wanted to become a teacher who preaches the scriptures. God’s word. Maybe in an unconventional way for that time but it’s quite admirable. Also, of course she’s hesitant to marry. She’s a young teenage girl, uprooting her life. Still her choice to follow her parent’s wishes and then following God’s decision for her is why she’s so holy.
I love Joseph and the song "Mother To A Savior And King". They're my favorites! Can't wait to own it on DVD soon!
I LOVE THE MOVIE so much!! I JUST WISH ALOT OF PEOPLE WATCHED THIS! When we came to the theater there were only 4 of us who watched the film😢
When I saw this movie, there were over 30 people in the theater and that was at the earliest showtime of the day! No worries, it’s available to stream, rent, and buy ! Personally, I LOVED it on the big screen with big sound!! Very DELIGHTFUL , LIGHTHEARTED MOVIE, even for us LIFELONG CATHOLICS 📿✨🙏🏾‼️( I now bought the movie and have been binge-watching it with my big old speakers 🔉🔊from the late ‘80’s🤗!)
Agreed, so sad that not many people are interested in these kinda movies only two people were there when I went to go see it 😪
Doctor dolittle with Rex Harrison didn't do well either it's still holds up .and that was December 1967.
Such a bummer it is not available to buy and watch outside of the US. :( I was really looking forward to it being released.

@@anahicarreon7982 Women can have dreams. I’m a woman with lots and lots and lots of dreams. But we’re talking about Mary here. If she was worthy to be the mother of God, she wouldn’t be so prideful and petulant. It’s feminist propaganda, with the cartoonish “grrr I didn’t have a son” dad and the quietly resentful mom who slams the bowl on the table to make her angry, repressed housewife statement. Mary was pure-hearted. She wouldn’t have shoved a fig in Joseph’s mouth to make a point that she didn’t want to talk to him. That’s a violent gesture. It’s bad storytelling.
But what do I know? I’m just a Catholic.
