That’s how band battles used to be. If both bands knew they had that song, they’d duke it out. SU vs. JSU 2013 Holy Grail, 2009 Neck, etc. It’s not uncommon. The band world just changed a little over the years.

@ mellophone sections are jot supposed to be “strong” as in taking over the melody from trumpets. You want them as a supporting instrument. JSU mello’s do a great job of doing just that.
