hi Dr Amanda, a quick question before my ACCA exam tmr :P. For revenue occurrence assertions. Why does "comparing it to budget and prior year revenue and investigate any significant difference" could cover Occurance assertions? in my opinion this should only cover completeness/cut-off As for example the current revenue is significantly lower compare to budget/ prior year, it may indicates that not all revenue is recorded. If the current revenue is significantly higher, it may indicate the client has not properly "cut-off" hence they may include next period revenue into current period. Or the solution for the answer is wrong? :O
Oh I'm so sorry I didn't get to this. This could be occurrence, but it depends on whether you expect budget and prior year to be stable and reasonable. Not a really great test at all. Over the budget/prior would be more likely occurrence, under budget perhaps completeness - but that doesn't take into account what is happening in the economy at the time. It is such a broad test that it doesn't really test any single assertion well!

Hi - unfortunately I can’t make any Caseware videos as I don’t have access to the software (& I’d need to get permission to record anything showing their intellectual property). It sounds like it will be a really interesting exam!
