I found I real original vintage Big Muff but the rarest and in my opinion best edition -the Ram's Head. Let's see what the hype is all about with vintage pedals... What do you think is it really better than the Reissue? Leave your comments below. :)
I'd take a New, updated one: any-day = more reliable, more compact, lower noise floor. Open a vintage EHX pedal and there is usually Rust and Corrosion on the inside.
I agree... the reissue nails the sound just fine that you wouldnt be able to tell the difference... For gigs and stable use I'd take the reissue, however lets say for recording in a studio where you only need to record some takes with it, I'd use the vintage one because there is just this feeling of it I can't explain.. you just have to feel it...
re-issue :) the sound is good enough :) and its a lot cheaper :) I prefer the build quality as well. I have an original MXR Phase 90! it looks so old inside!! but still working!!
Very well produced video and great sound demos of the two pedals! Now tell me... where do I find fleamarkets that carry original vintage guitar gear for a fraction of their actual market price? 😉
The old ones just can't be cloned I tried, there is something in that sustain that gives the sound that it is rising as it's coming at you where as the newer Muff just has a solid no wavy tone, its weird but you can hear it when you really get loud

yes, you are right... there is just some depth of the vintage one that is just missing from the new ones...
