on the warped strips, try taking a steam iron and heating them with steam, place a flat board over them and use ratchet straps to hold them flat. Let it sit overnight. If you still can, try putting a board inside and outside and then run screw in-between the strips to clamp them tight. This might get the warping out and make them behave.

I can give that a try. Part of the problem is that I didn't sand the bow stem flat enough in that area, so it's pushing the strips out.
