In the SC lore (the real lore, not the bs LotV retcon) the Xel'naga made a bunch of alien species in a quest to create the "perfect" life form. Keiron and Xayid would fit really well as previous failed attempts. Genetron not so much imo because they definitely seem Terran-created, but Idk.
Hey that would be a really interesting idea for a custom campaign! Something like a couple lost races created by the Xel'naga that never found themselves involved with the main conflict. I don't think it's confirmed but one idea for the Genetron was that they were developed by the Terran Dominion
