SAUNDBY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: - At 3.41, the yellow and black marker is an underground fuel pipeline from Misterton fuel dump. - A Mr Barton started the cheese factory in the 1920s and in the depression for some time people couldn’t afford to buy cheese and so they filled their houses with cheeses, even storing them under their beds! - The cheese factory was down Marsh Lane
I grew up in Saundby from the age of 12 upto 16, returning at age 18 for a few years. My family home was well known for its 'pigs' on the end of the driveway that sat smartly on top of the pillars. When my parents sold just shy of 3 years ago the new owners soon took an axe to the pigs though which was a huge shame especially when they took up and sold a short while later. My parents spent some 30 years in their home and hold many memories dear to them. Thanks for the video!
Would be nice to know who you are and your parents as my antie moved out of the Gables in the late 80's after being there since the early 50's she may know your parents.
At 3.41 the yellow and black marker is the underground fuel pipeline from misterton fuel dump. Gainsborough used to be the capital of England. Looking forward to you doing gringley on the hill. Another great video.

Great story! Thanks! Shame about the pigs though, they'd have been nice to capture on film
