Hi, I thought about this before accepting this device and my conclusion was that 1) there are sanctions being enforced right now, and if this device is available for purchase here, it'll be kind of ok to talk about it and 2) part of the taxes I'm paying is used to fight the imperialist agression, and I fully approve that So overall, I should be ok on the karma scale This conflict can only be resolved on the international level. I don't think spreading the hate on the face-to-face level really helps ending the war. But I also can see why one could take a different perspective here. Also, if you have proof on your claim they're supporting the war on Ukraine, please link it here.
That is really nice and innovative. Infra-channel modulation is something that was implemented back in the 80s in the Paula chip on the Amiga. Must have been quite cool to be able to cross-modulate sample sequences instead of waveforms. I wonder if there’s any max4live device or vst that also implements that architecture
I'm afraid I never heard of such a plugin, but I'd start searching by looking at the major ones ... For example, FM8 has a MIDI learn function for each operator and you _should_ be able to assign note value to operator frequency individually.
Thanks for watching! You have to move carefully on this synth, otherwise you'll get noise only. (Which might be the intended usecase, but I personally like my mainstream pop sounds, thank you) ;-)
Only do this if you're willing to go into experimental territory (read: create some weird, nasty, noisy sounds most of the time) ;-) For approachable FM, Reface DX, OPSix or Digitone have developed hands-on UIs that are more self-explanatory.
Thank you for this short tutorial! Have you tried mapping cc messages to a controller? When i mapped fm source, it only works when i press the button on the metaconformer not when i send the cc message from the controller. Thanks again!
Yes, of course. Don't buy this if you're looking for an FM synth. But try this if you bought the Metaconformer (for its MIDI routing / processing capabilities).
@@mr_floydstThat, Floyd should have been you first centence, you naughty boy, before stretching my attention span by a long and thorough once over on a device that is (sadley) wasted on me. I know Soma from their Lyra. So that turned my attention on.....and 18 minutes later it was turned off again. But luckily a trailer for a new Bridget Jones movie broke the tension a bit 😂. Thanks NoroAmehr, for bringing me back from the "edge of reason". Especially if you use an EX5 to operate this device you are far beyond that edge IMHO 😂. But keep up the good work, Floyd👍👍👍
Mr. Steinberg why have my reply providing you with the requested evidence, and other posts criticising you covering Soma products disappeared from the comments of this video?
I have decided not to buy this is Soma is a Russian company who’s owner appears to support Russia’s attack on Ukraine

I went to search and found nothing of the sort. He's posting about his company and synths, nothing else. Not sure where it "appears" to you.
This is the first pop music done with the Metaconformer that I've seen. Most of the others are drone or noise. Well done!!!
Thanks!
Wow, very interesting.
That’s a helluva firmware update! 😮
You're right! It's technically impressive and also creative.
@ Right!? I’m hoping some of my old MIDI controllers turn out to be an FM Synthesizer too! 😂
Nice. I would buy that.

i love fm synths, this one looks cool, some of the nasty sounds remind me of the korg 707 i have:)

This machine is an FM BEAST! I'd rather use it for that than it's original purpose.
It is something different, and if you move your fingers carefully, you'll get some fresh, expressive sounds out of it.
@mr_floydst I love it!!
Not so much into FM synth maybe this one is a candidate to give it another try

I'll check and report back! :-)
@ I updated the firmware and now it works
Volca fm2 is cheaper and mightier, imho.

UA-cam aitomatically deletes anything containing links to external pages. Please try breaking up those links by adding spaces or linebreaks. ...
I still can see the comments by viewers telling me they wouldn't buy this product...
