That's what a rev limiter is for buddy. I understand some other types of quads and engines need to be babied. This is not one of those and was designed and built for this stuff so I will continue to ride it that way. Ever watch motorcross or super cross? Very similar engines in those bikes and they are "abused" way more for a much longer period of time and I very rarely see any of them blow an engine.

I treat it like it was built for, a fully built race quad and she doesn't skip a beat. If I had a slow little girl quad I would ride it like a little girl.
You will see a big difference in power with just a cherry bomb, insert taken out of the exhaust, and remove the lid on your stock intake. The next step is full exhaust (don't waste your money on a slip on), after market intake like fuel atv or kms, and PClll or similar tunable programmer and get it dyno tuned. You will see a small difference in power from this step but not as much from stock to cherry bomb.

+Everything Adventures I have ridden it like this for almost 10 years. 4 of which it was making close to 60 hp and no issues. As long as you don't force it. If you let off the gas and rev match it is easy to do. A lot of people shift like this on sequential gear boxes.
YFZ frame + Banshee motor. I'd like to do that. I'm shopping around for a cheap Banshee right now.
Its hard getting streetbike motor power to the ground through an atv platform.
@SAM P. If you get a Fuel ATV custom intake they will send you a custom dyno tuned map for your pclll. You may get a small increase from that but unless you want to start digging in the motor (cams, piston, valves etc.) you are about max for a stock LTR.

Yea u can get some big spots at the powersports place. We try to make both of them just to drag race.
the place that raptor shine are on hills flat drags don't show how powerful something is that raptor would eat you alive on a hill.
many after market headers that are for a full system wont fit a slip on bc slip ons neck down where they slip in to the factory header, aftermarket full systems will remove that choke in the header so that wont match up to a muffler intended for stock header. an 08+ header is a small upgrade for an 06/07. just save and get a full system if you want an increase in hp like derek said.
All the same mods as yours except mine is 474cc vs your 734. I set mine up for a fast reliable duner. LTRs were not designed for drag racing and I couldn't justify converting a purpose built quad into something it was not designed to do. I want to eventually build a drag quad but I won't waste any more money on the little 450s for the drags. You are going to probably win but I'll still race ya. :)

Yea I know where you're coming from. I'm in the same boat; mine is just a dunner/trail bike, but it's gonna get pushed to a full on dunner/drag bike.
Now I've seen some Bad A 450 drag bikes before. They're light and fast. Cut the fat on them and get the hp up and they'll flat run.
Hopefully before summer starts I can get the zilla motor back and get it tuned and ready to race.. I sure wanna go, never been!

I have an ltz 400, it's a great bike! Don't have to do anything to it! I love it so much and I'm planning on installing a 440 bore kit on it.

If you can find a good used full DASA then that's what I would do. But you will see a gain by just getting the header pipe.

Mine's a 2007 with jets, HMF full exhaust kit and longer gears. My cousin has same but with DG exhaust and short gears. Is yours short or long geared?

I finally got my quad dyno tuned. I need to do some regular maintenance and adjust valves and I will be ready to go back. My buddy on the yfzr has better tires now. Should be a good race. I'll let ya know when we are planning on heading back up there. See how your raptor does against some built 450s. :)

What makes you think it's the cam? Stage 1 and 2 don't tell much because I don't know the specs of the cam you are talking about. It could be something else that needs to be diagnosed by someone with a lot more knowledge of the bike than I do. Give Chris Williams at Williams Performance a call. He should be able to get you the info you need.

Well if you have bored and stroked it to 522 then you will def need a different cam amongst other things. Port and polish head, ported throttle body, and maybe even a bigger injector

How'd this big bore hold up for ya? Theres a ltr in oregon for sale with almost this exact build im thinkin about buying. The comments from people bitching about not using the clutch are hilarious. I use it to start and thats the only time i ever use clutch on any of my machines.

No, not really, they're too big and heavy with an underpowered engine. Try getting a raptor 250/blaster or ltz400 for your size.

even though you high compression piston, can you still run regular gas? 91 octane......would it make a difference if i use racing gas to my ltr with the stock compression?

Do you have it set up for drags? From what I have seen they are pretty slow in stock or near stock form but have a lot of potential with all that displacement. I opted for a smaller quad so I could throw it around and do some dune jumping. But for the drags, I have seen some sick raptors.

Justin Boyy it was dyno tuned at Killeen powersports. dyno tune is the way to go if you have a lot of money in the motor

+racequad9 She runs like a champ! Whenever I ride it I beat the crap out of it and put it up wet. Dirty injector is the only problem I've had since the build. Other than that it's just oil changes and regular maintenance. I highly recommend Chris Williams for engine work.
