For better or for worse he absolutely hates to check it down. Rare to see him do it more than once or twice a game, if that. Always looking to fire it down field.
@@arid_desert_storm Probably worse but most rookie QBs do that. Good defenses will force those type of QBs to check it down for most of the game until they get frustrated and take shots down the field (Bears vs. Jared Goff this season for reference)

Fixes: Better management in the pocket (not scrambling when he doesn't need to), put more touch on some passes (doesn't need to sling every throw with so much juice), needs to find chemistry with reliable receivers and be more consistent in throws (Every 5 throws or so he makes a throw to a fairly open receiver and just slightly misses him or throws it slightly to hard for where they are).
I think he's definetly at least the second best quarterback coming out of the draft, he's the most flashy and athletic in my opinion out of all the qbs and has the ability to escape the pocket scary good. Mayfield just puts more touch and finess on the ball and has better pocket management. Allen is a better athlete than Lamar Jackson hands down in my opinion.

With that said he still has those one or two rookie mistakes game that just make me go “what?” But I love this guys energy and can’t wait for next season. I’m so pumped. He made this the most exciting 6-10 season ever.
Kozars Son he actually went 5-5 as a starter.. the team went 1-5 without him... actually he should of won the game against the texans (6-4) but he got hurt and peterman blow it
That makes two of us. I also wanted him long before the draft. When we got him I couldn't believe it. Then all the haters started and we better get used to it since we're going to be crushing souls and the haters will keep coming.
Don't forget the tight loss to the Jets. This team could've been 8-8 easily. I wanted no other QB in the draft, and I was elated with our first round, as we have a stud at LB in Edmunds, too. He also had a few rookie gaffes, but he's a ball hawk and can lead the D for a decade (assuming the Bills can keep a young LB for more than a couple seasons). Anyway, we also got a nice surprise in Foster (unless you watch the SEC), and there's top flight WR talent in the draft. I'd love to see them get Deebo Samuels early, who'll be a great return man as well as a slant or deep threat, or even running the ball in some creative formations. Anyway, it's really exciting to be a Bills fan again!
Seeing him pre and post injury it's night and day, imagine what he'll do with a proper preseason. A lot of non-Bills fans don't realize how much shuffling was going on during preseason this year and how much that probably hurt Allen's development.
Absolutely insane how good that injury was for him. The first 5 mins are highlights from before the injury. The last 8 are all after. You can see the progression from game to game. Just wait till he gets weapons, an OL and the whole camp and preseason to be QB1 and create better chemistry. Bills are going to surprise people next year .

yeah, im tired of the "magical 3 rd year leap" everybody says, Allen improved every year but media just aknowledged until 2020, he's gonna bring us the lombardy some day i know, we just need to wait a little bit longer
Because the Bills were seen as an awful team during their playoff drought in the 2000s and 2010s, and then they got McDermott as Coach, then they got Allen, Allen eventually got better, they got Diggs, and now they make yearly postseason appearances.
I’m a Vikings fan and I can’t even be mad at this at all. This guy gives 110% every game and I would real love to see him compete in the playoffs and maybe even make a super bowl in his career
I remember when he played for Wyoming and everyone thought he would be a bust and then he blew it up and led them to the Mountain West championship. Same thing happened when he went into the NFL, people thought he would be a bust.
I sure hope you're right. He desperately needs a pocket that holds together longer than two seconds after the snap. He's an amazing raw talent and a blast to watch but if he continues running like that he's gonna get killed. Every team on the Bills' '19 schedule will have studied Allen to death by the start of the season and they'll be gunning for him. I think the kid has the potential to do great things in Buffalo if he's given the weapons and he stays healthy. Exciting times to be a Bills fan, for sure
I’ve always said Josh Allen was special, and one of the most impressive QB’s I watched this season. This is coming from a Texans fan so no bias here, Bills got a special player!
# Gemini2 definitely get a new tight end.. I would draft one this year.. they have a lot of good ones this year it about 6 or 8 good ones. We mind as well grab one with 10 picks
I just love the dude. His attitude, intangibles, desire, competitiveness, and of course his rocket arm & leg. Imagine him with a great OLine and a vertical game. Like Kurt Warner did but with the dual threat of his 20+ yard runs too!
It's insane comparing the Bills offense from Allen's rookie year to 2020. He had so many little flashes of greatness his rookie year, but wow. Go Bills!

As a New England fan. I’m scared for when Brady retires. This kid is gonna cause trouble for us for years. Confident in the pocket, strong arm and can run.
I've met 2-3 wyoming fans and all of them said they felt he was a bust waiting to happen. Look in the comment sections of the fan page. People weren't in love
That run at 2:58 was incredible. A white running QB, what we thought Tebow could be. This guy is going to be even better if he gets some talent around him and a good o line.
11:26 there's no way Allen should be able to throw the ball like that. There's almost no windup. I swear, every time i watch him play, i feel like a giddy school kid. He just is exciting to watch.
Me too. I’ve never been so happy to be so wrong about the QB we drafted. I was listening to all the foolish draft evaluators who were skeptical of Josh....Allen.
All he needs are better receivers. The ball will hit his receivers right in the hands and they'll drop it. I honestly think he has potential to lead the AFC East when Brady and Belichick leave.
As a Bills fan what he’s been able to do given the circumstances surrounding him offense and it has been pretty remarkable. Build around him properly and I think his future is bright.
As a bears fan, he definitely has the potential to be the best qb in the league. One of the best running QBs in the league. And he has one of the best arms in the league, just gotta build the offense around him, very similar to cam newton
That he was able to do all these things in his rookie season with a sub par offensive line and make shift receiver corps shows how good this kid is. I watched all the bills games this season and his receivers dropped so many catchable passes. Imagine his stats if he had better receivers, if they didn't waste so much time with Peterman and McCarron, and if he didn't get injured. I'm psyched for the bills next year.

I don't agree. Brady was Allen's idol, and I believe that BUFFALO is gonna top the AFC EAST once Brady retires. The kid has it all, he runs, he hurdles, he flies and has the accuracy when he fires that ball down the field! I can't wait to see him this year! As long as McDermott gets the Offensive Line together, he'll do great! I'm so glad Buffalo has this kid!
@@dougbillington8139 sam darnold is a more consistently accurate thrower of the football than allen but they are both gonna be good this division has the jet's and the bill's name on it tho for sure
Matthew Stafford, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes are comparable in release speed; but, you're right - Allen's throws look like they're coming out of a gun! He actually needs to develop his touch on short/intermediate throws more, in order to be really effective! That will come with work, practice, and some time. He'll get there - but the raw talent is obvious to anyone who loves watching QBs play!

yeah, im tired of the "magical 3 rd year leap" everybody says, Allen improved every year but media just aknowledged until 2020, he's gonna bring us the lombardy some day i know, we just need to wait a little bit longer
Love this kid sooo much fun to watch it’s like we have our own mike Vick gonna be entertaining for years and years to come
I sure hope you're right.
As long as the bills don't get any more ex Panthers players.
This didn't age well did it
Hahahaha
The velocity he throws with is ridiculous.
Honestly I forgot he could run like that back in the day. He was running for his life, now its an afterthought. Which is aiight with me Go Bills!
I’ve always said Josh Allen was special, and one of the most impressive QB’s I watched this season. This is coming from a Texans fan so no bias here, Bills got a special player!
O line and WR's this off season ... maybe a new TE and it will be back to the playoffs
# Gemini2 definitely get a new tight end.. I would draft one this year.. they have a lot of good ones this year it about 6 or 8 good ones. We mind as well grab one with 10 picks
They signed 6 OL
3 WR
2 TE
3 RB
4:28 when I knew he was gonna be great one day
He is great. Only getting started
Look at how much our kid as grown 🤧
🤣🤣
I am excited for this Kid. Big arm and is a competitor. Perfect fit at Buffalo. Best of Luck for this guy.
He is pretty raw and inconsistent but man he shown a lot of skills. This coaching staff is good too, hope they keep them around and help Allen grow.
I’m from Wyoming and it was so fun watching him!
Josh Allen had nice rookie season
Charissa Thompson he had a nice season and your just good looking lol
Charissa Thompson #BillsMafia
I just love the dude. His attitude, intangibles, desire, competitiveness, and of course his rocket arm & leg. Imagine him with a great OLine and a vertical game. Like Kurt Warner did but with the dual threat of his 20+ yard runs too!
Josh Allen > Ryan Tanninghill
He's a way better prospect than Ryan, a converted college receiver.
That's a low bar dude
that really goes without saying
As a dolphins fan...Ryan is Trash... But I agree
Charlie B what? They are saying Allen is better
It's insane comparing the Bills offense from Allen's rookie year to 2020. He had so many little flashes of greatness his rookie year, but wow. Go Bills!
True, but lots of busts have flashes of greatness. He really improved his game.
It's like if Big Ben could run like Cam. Ridiculous upside when he gets receivers
Yup
As a Colts fan I can't help but think he's just a complete package at QB... Big, strong, smart, gutsy, athletic.... Happy for the Bills.... Great kid there
Looks like a bigger Steve Young.
GREAT comparison
this aged like fine wine
This kid is something special will be elite qb in years to come!!!
As a New England fan. I’m scared for when Brady retires. This kid is gonna cause trouble for us for years. Confident in the pocket, strong arm and can run.
Hopefully Belichick can somehow fleece Buffalo for Allen so he can be at the reins in New England.
#StandYourGround Nope he’s ours. Bills time to dominate you. Y’all had your time to shine
And you are correct
talk about a nightmare come true haha
This is a flaming hot take
I think all the Qb's drafted in the 2018 first round landed perfect that fit the team and city nice. Go Bills
The NFL is seeing what Wyoming Cowboy fans have known for a while...this kid can play some football.
"He can throw for a country mile" lol
I've met 2-3 wyoming fans and all of them said they felt he was a bust waiting to happen. Look in the comment sections of the fan page. People weren't in love
@@zdorris93 why did they feel like he was a bust? Like what specifically about his game makes him a bust waiting to happen? Just curious for real
So basically he runs for 1000 yards this year if he didnt miss a quarter of the season. He'll need to improve in the pocket but I like what I see
Wesley D runs for 1,000+ and throws for 3000+ if he didn’t miss 4 games.
Wesley D what pocket can he improve in if he has no pockets
Hes great in the pocket just needs better WRs and playcalling lol
How do expect the guy to be a better pocket passer when you have a o line like ours
With the cap space that buffalo has next year, they should get some good offensive linemen to protect this kid
Yup
That run at 2:58 was incredible. A white running QB, what we thought Tebow could be. This guy is going to be even better if he gets some talent around him and a good o line.
Lmao
i know this is a josh allen highlight reel, but damn zay jones is constantly making plays
And he’s on our team doing nothing
He made Zay better
It’s crazy to watch his first few games this year in 2019 lol he got Way better in front of our eyes every week
And he got even better
@@GLA45Amg716 And still is this season, his stats are unbelievable 6 weeks in.
Kids going to be a beast again this season
If only Allen had a good offense for the entire year......
Maybe next year.
The offense really isent that baf maybe the offensive line but the defense is the issue
@@lentwolf8256 what... the bills were ranked in the top 3 all season on defense You are clueless
If The Bills Build Up the O-Line through the Draft/Free Agency Josh Allen will take the AFC next season , To big and fast to stop
If only he never got hurt by a dirty hut maybe the bills could’ve made the playoffs 🤔
This guy is the Future!
11:26 there's no way Allen should be able to throw the ball like that. There's almost no windup. I swear, every time i watch him play, i feel like a giddy school kid. He just is exciting to watch.
Definitely didn’t know this kid was this athletic
I was screaming wrong Josh on draft day. Now I know I can't quit my day job to be an NFL scout.
Sad
Me too. I’ve never been so happy to be so wrong about the QB we drafted. I was listening to all the foolish draft evaluators who were skeptical of Josh....Allen.
Bills actually gonna be good for the first time in a couple decades
Josh just has got the "it" factor. Highly, highly competitive. & willing to do anything it takes to win. Hes smart AF too.
All he needs are better receivers. The ball will hit his receivers right in the hands and they'll drop it. I honestly think he has potential to lead the AFC East when Brady and Belichick leave.
Yup
This young man is a DAWG!! As a Cowboys fan, I really hope they build around him...too bad they dont play many national televised games
Well there is that thanksgiving game in Dallas lol should be fun
Josh Allen is a more athletic Steve Young - Aaron Rodgers prototype with an insane arm.
lDab4VC a lot more athletic than Rogers
@@nnnullllllll also a lot less accurate
Robo Rollins less accurate? Yes. But Allen being innacurate is a myth. He doesn’t take the checkdowns.
Robo Rollins L
lDab4VC More like Cam Newton with Brett Favre’s upper body’s
This Young man has shown growth this year it shows how much hard work he's put in. The Bills have done a great job building around him.
He played alot better than i thought he would last season.
In my opinion the bills are just 3 players to be great 2 OL and a number 1 WR
Well we just signed like 6 offensive linemen and 3 wideouts it's looking really good so far
Victor Sandoval I know I’m excited
STEFON DIGGS BABYYYY
These aren’t ordinary highlights from a qb comparisons can be matched great arm great legs and leaping ability.. I see a future star best of luck goes to this man josh gunslinging allen
Looking forward to games between him and Darnold. #JetUp
Bills - Jets gonna run the AFC East after Brady leaves.
Sooner than that if he plays next year.
danny etling might have something to say about that.. practice squad superstar lololol
Ya I look forward to some battles with the Jets. Both franchises are on the up and up.
@@dougbillington8139 sam darnold is a more consistently accurate thrower of the football than allen but they are both gonna be good
this division has the jet's and the bill's name on it tho for sure
He's a player they can do big things with him for years to come.
Y'all didn't put in his 1st td pass!🤦♂️
I can’t think of any other qb who’s passes seem to explode out of their release like his do.
He'll get there - but the raw talent is obvious to anyone who loves watching QBs play!
im a giants fan but this dude is a cross between a young john elway and cam newton
Who’s here in 2021 amazed at this kids come up?
Big Ben with a little Cam. He got potential
Noah Castro He’s literally his own guy. I think he’s kinda more like Mahomes though than Cam or Big Ben tbh.
He has the Mahomes throw power, Brett farve strength, cam Newton speed, and Big Ben escapability.
Looking back to 2018 and comparing to 2020, he’s made so much progress
I wanna see Josh Rosen’s highlights😂😂😂
Literally just that game winning drive.
LMAO😂😂😂
The commercial would be longer than that
yikes 😂
Probably picking that large schnoz of his
They need to put pieces around this dude, he's special, probably the 2nd best QB from the draft
A Lamar Jackson that can throw
Nick Nickell a Cam with Better speed and accuracy. Josh ain’t close to Jackson’s speed
Allen and Lamar Jackson aren’t even the same type of athlete terrible comparison
Charlie B Allen also started more games...
@Charlie B how do you know did u watch film
A Josh Allen who can throw AND run
Hos accuracy is not as bad as people think do people watch his games? This kid is the real deal and I'm glad he is on my team. I truly think he will bring a Superbowl to Buffalo real soon.
damn straight bro
