Great interview Ron. Covered some good stuff. Towards the end Blackie kept it together better then most could but you can tell he was a little salty on Rik Fox's past with the band so their seems to be much more to the story, wish we could have the full story and we did notice he didn't confirm OR deny Rik's claim of coming up with the name. Rik Fox needs to put out a book, he's got some of the best insights. Steeler reunion with all 4 original members including Yngvie please 🙏
Yngwie would never even consider doing it. Mark Edwards had a motorcycle accident and can't play anymore. That said, Steeler reunited at KeelFest in 2019 with Ron, Rik Fox, Mitch Perry (who originally replaced Yngwie), and Dwain Miller (who had auditioned for Steeler, but later became drummer for Keel), but Mark was there. There will be another reunion at KeelFest II in 2023 in Las Vegas.
Hi Ron, Ok, I just listened....I believe that I discussed with you privately about how his commentary is a 'personally backpedaled under pressure and skewed' revisionist history to validate his own version of the story, especially the clever, (but baseless attempt) of the band photos (but cleverly ommitted how great our demo sounded), plus, origin of the Road Warrior concept. He nervously skated right over the origin of the band name that I created as well...well, he's in a much better position to be believed than I am. In any case, as the famous script line in the Ray Sharkey film "The Idolmaker", he's told the truth about the recording industry: "Success has no conscience." And your guest has to look in the mirror every day and face that. Thank you for sharing it with me. You Rock brother. 🧡👍🤟
