Steele Thompson and hoerner are some very good young pieces for the future plus we have some of the better prospects in baseball much optimism for the duture
I like Morel as well. Cubs have a good young core of players. I think Cubs will be back in playoffs in a couple more seasons.
Steele was really good tonight and the guys flashed some leather behind him!
Give Steele and Thompson some time to grow through the growing pains. They'll be good for the future.

@@hxperisdabestfr Yes, Contreras is eligible for free agency at the end of the season. But this has nothing to do with what I posted. I made a comment on this below to another posting.

@@hxperisdabestfr No prob. I hope the Cubs can resign Contreras. The best of all possible scenarios would be to trade Contreras for some good prospects, and then resign him as a free agent -- sort of what like the Yankees did with Chapman in 2016. Remember? Of course you do!
Contreras and Happ both absolutely deserve to be All Stars. Both are absolutely incredible players. This game was incredible across the board!!! #FlytheW

The Cubs are not going to compete this year. They entered 2022 knowing that this, and probably next year, will be rebuilding seasons. Meanwhile, Contreras is due to be a free agent after this season ends. The Cubs can try to resign him, but that is hardly guaranteed. They can get prospects if they trade him before the end of the season, and then try to resign him as a free agent. Or they can keep Contreras for the rest of the season, and risk getting nothing more than an extra draft pick should they not resign him.

@@RavioliToes Well we knew that coming into the season for the Cubs. For the Sox, they were supposed to be the team to beat -- and everyone is beating them, at least at home. At least the Cubs are not a disappointment. They are playing as expected.

Why are they lying about injuries? No players in the history of players were out injured with back,knee,hamstring, forearm, groin, etc. tightness. It's obvious gambling is the reason.
