This magnificent Palladian Mansion designed by architect Robert Adam began life in 1759 when the Medieval village of Kedleston was demolished to make way for it... enjoy our unique content ✨️

Hi Neil and Ant we love Kedleston was interesting to see the new route. It's good that they are showing different areas. We always love the Marble Hall and Saloon some of our favourite rooms so beautiful. As you know the blues in the state rooms are my colour of choice I would have my state room decorated just like this 😍 . The gilt against the blue in the drawing room is amazing we will definitely have to go back soon and take the new route round.. Shame Ant had to work and missed out on the beautiful weather you had for your trip out. A big 👍. Best wishes Dave and Dawn ❤️

The new route is wonderful it is basically going counter clockwise around the house and to enter the rooms from the opposite ends you're used to really lets you see them with fresh eyes... The house is splendid and looking pristine. There was a tasty treat too in the form of a savoury afternoon tea courtesy of my sister and brother in law [ see end of video couple hand in hand ! ] The pale blue silk is truly gorgeous 100% agree with you! The Library is my favorite room. The Blue Damask is beautiful, but in all those rooms? Would NEVER have happened during the period. I prefer the original Baroque palace to the Palladion elevation. Thankfully the owners did not tear down the original palace when the new Palladium elevation was constructed.

Thankyou so much for watching and commenting... prior to the National Trust taking over the house was far more eclectic inside, suits of armour in the corridors and family items gathered over the centuries. The NT took the decision to take the house back to something more like a Robert Adam plan / sketch so whilst it is beautiful it has lost any feeling of the family ... Best wishes from us both 😀
@chrisisjustme7546 Is good to see the property restored and well cared for. Waddeson and Blenheim my favorite NT properties. Sir John Vanbrugh's concepts, exquisite Baroque elegance, executed by architect
Nicholas Hawksmore. Too bad Vanbrugh had a falling out with the Duchess of Marlborough. He never saw Blenheim completed.
Designer client relationships are quite fragile. I fired a long time client three years ago, spent over 1 million dollars with my company over the years, due to her entitlement.

Blenheim is so fabulous in scale and sheer opulence... we have only visited it once at Christmas time when it was dressed for the festive period, we'd love to go again... we have been to Castle Howard which although smaller is of similar design, we love it too [ I'll leave you a link to our most recent visit there ] we too love the Baroque style, sadly many examples have been lost. We are so lucky to have so many fabulous historic houses within driving distance of our home, it is our favourite pass time visiting them... all the best Neil and Ant 😊 link to Castle Howard 👇

@chrisisjustme7546 At Blenheim, when I turned the corner from the kitchen courtyard into the Grande Courtyard, all I could say was holy s***! I had never seen anything like this. Spectacular!!!
