Ram Dass Here and Now - Episode 37 - Aldous Huxley: beherenownetwork.com/now-epis...
================
Aldous Huxley preceded Ram Dass and Tim Leary in explorations of the remote frontiers of the mind and unmapped areas of human consciousness. In, “Doors of Perception” Huxley studied the profound effects of mind-expanding drugs. In the book “Island” he described an ideal society that flourished on a remote South Sea island. An outsider is shipwrecked on the island and is shown the values of this ideal society, and learns about hope.

Is the rest of the talk available? He was just getting into the crux of Brave New World.
PLEASE PLEASE tell me where I can hear the rest of the talk! Its almost cruel to take us so far and then cut it off. I loved this talk!
Awesome... the assembly line in described in last few mins is ongoing...I'm happy to have been a growing teen in the 60's born in L.A., California with all the shrooms, LSD, etc.. great talk as always by Ram Dass.. thanks for posting.
I’m I move with this channel , I want to thank the creator ❤
so glad to learn about their friendship, they're two people I really admire
Right around 2:26 he calls "Brave New World" "BRAND New World". Nearly unforgivable!!
You are right. I think it is sad, as he says, that some people may not know about Aldous Huxley. !!!
I, like you, am a great admirer of his work. My faves are "Doors of Perception" and "Heaven and Hell."
@@rr7firefly He did make that mistake, and it is jarring, but we are all human and the brain sometimes has its neuron's fire in odd ways. I'm tolerant of it, because I know what he meant, and since I knew that, and I know that I could easily make an associative memory error like that as I get older. (I am 61 years old, and know from experience how easy it is to make that type of error.)
@@nicholasfulford6753 Only 61? That's not so old. I know several people over 85 who can still keep on top of things. But I know what you mean. At this time in history we are glutted with all kinds of information -- so many names to keep track of. And because of the internet, our access to tons of info has increased exponentially.
@@rr7firefly I don't mind aging ... ok, I do, but it is the price of admission so I'm ok with it within limits. I do like that age has brought me a level of self-acceptance that I did not have at all when I was young. I also like that my poetry has actually become worth reading - imagine that. But I do find that while mis-remembering is creative, it can be quite embarrassing sometimes, so I have had to develop a self-depreciating sense of humour. One conclusion that I realized last year out on a three day hike with some fungal friends, that the arc of the universe tips ever so slightly more towards comedy than tragedy. This was a charming realization, and I do hope to prove this by leaving this life laughing. (Unfortunately, I won't be able to report back on the last moments, so I may just have to do it in a fMRI. Hell, they have done fMRI scans on people having orgasms, so why not see what happens just before the lights go out? I'd volunteer for that, and especially if they let me go out on a suitable high like Huxley.)
@@nicholasfulford6753 Your idea about an fMRI as someone is departing is a good one. I think it would provide valuable insights. I am intrigued with your mention of "fungal friends." A few people have recommended psilocybin to me and I am well aware of its ability to access info that normally stays obscured by everyday thoughts. Best wishes to you, NF. I always enjoy reading comments such as yours.

At some point hopefully the gaps between phrases can be digitally treated. We now get an echo bounce. It’s such important and unique communication. I hear from Raghu how under pressure they are to catalogue all these.
You said Brand New World.
is the rest of the talk somewhere it was getting really interesting then it stops
DMT = Direct Meditative Transcendence 🎺📍🤺
Extraordinary!
Raghu means well but should keep all intro down to about 3 minutes. He seems like a podcast lightweight with a microphone.
Brave New World! Fagu Marcus
Ragu Marcus
Raghu said brand ... ;) you need some SOMA!!
One can sense consciousness without psychedelics.
Yep
Through meditation?
Brave new world, did this man miss the title?
Bingo, its love
Is Ram Dass living?
Unfortunately no, he left his body in December 2019.

GALATIANS 2:20 ( I AM ) 🌺
“brand new” world? Are you fricking kidding me? It’s Brave New World
Omg! That intro is rubbish and a complete insult to the podcast… a foolish stoned person blabing on for way too long. Cut the intro!
He is probably also the guy who catalogs everythinf and makes this podcast happen
Good job Raghu, you’re showing all kinds of people where they’re caught. Thank you guru ji 🙏
Very long disjointed intro , needs a better prep before starting podcast
i assume your putting your hand up to accept that responsibility
since you clearly know how to do it better,?
pete stronach , yeah no problem , easily known facts Raghu gets wrong
Awww so still caught in the intro. Lol 😂
Zzzzzzzz
"Brand" New World? Are you kidding me? Thanks for the content but spare us your long rambling intros which no one here wants to hear.
