I don't know about others but I personally like this trailer much more than A-liner. It looks like a small room from inside giving very domestic homely feeling 👍.
@@jonnycando agreed, but with this trailer all one has to do is park it, open the door and get on with your honeymoon or in Slim's case get on with your business. Simple, secure and stable.
"And I, I took the road less travelled, and that made all the difference". We who live here in Alberta are so blessed. Thanks as always for another great video.
Before I retired, when we visited the forest trails, I would often stop to feel the moss and bark of trees and try to imprint that memory in my mind. Then, when back at work I would try to recall that sensation. It was fleeting, however, and I yearned to return to nature for more. Now, retired, I'm fortunate enough to have a forest in my back yard. I still stop to enjoy, only more often now. Yea!
I always wondered how Slim powers all his camera equipment when he's out for hours far away from his solar system, but I finally see here that he plugs into current bushes.
When i was a child, my best moments at home, from home was the grown over empty lots to see what was new. How high the pond or stream was, what animals had visited and even human activity you might not tell if you were just passing through. It was an adventure for interesting plants, a rock or maybe a tadpole.. i didnt keep them but liked scooping them up to get a closer look. I amazed at horsetail and a wild apple, along with wild black eyed susans. Plus the wild berries in season...strawberry, blackberry or maybe a blueberry.
Just got back from a multi-week trip up into the sierra nevada. Of coourse, with Covid messing up all other recreation opportunities, the campgrounds and the public lands are packed with people. We had to wander farther out to leave the crowds behind (easy in my rig, but that's why I invested into something more offroad worthy). Found a gorgeous spot close to a natural hot spring just around 9000ft which apparently few people knew about as we were mostly alone there. Many miles of dirt roads may have kept people away too. I think a lot of people don't enjoy the small things - the butterflies, the little flowers in the desert or that flock of birds. We spent hours watching the swallows over our heads and there were a bunch of other things at night we couldn't see more of than a shadow and hear some noises (some kind of night birds or bats), for that the stars were out in force being far away from any light pollution. I'm just doing some maintenance, restock, install better brakes for steep mountain passes and be out again in a few weeks.
Slim...you are a poet. Love the videos. Every one of them. They are good for our souls to watch. All of creation, all of the earth...the Creator and all His Majesty has created this majesty.
Lori Smith okon I miss wild strawberries. We used to pick them when I was a kid with mom and dad on the Minnesota- Manitoba border. Mom would can quarts of sauce, pints of jam. We always had fresh strawberries with cream when we arrived home from picking. Their flavor is so intense, sweet and rich.

*Slim, you are a poet, an artist, and a romantic. I really enjoy these travel logs - and as usual, your one-man production crew is to be commended.* 13:50 Good call. It's definitely a verity of wild orchid. Orchids come in so many shapes and colors, from Snap-Dragons to Vanilla plant, it's hard to pin down the variety. They are so adaptable that it could even be a variety that only grows on the side of that particular mountain. The purple flower group is also an orchid of some sort. My Mom was an horticulturalist (had a degree and everything) and she would have been overjoyed with such a find. Legal or not, she wouldn't have been beyond pulling it up by the roots and planting it in the backyard garden, justifying it by saying she wasn't destroying the plant but helping it to propagate. Mountain Laurel was her worst offense. In the mountains of Virginia it is a protected species - didn't stop Mom, she had a garden specifically for wild Mountain Laurel.

Have been watching vlogs from the beginning, following a recommendation by UK UA-cam narrowboat vloggers ‘Floating our boat’. I endorse all the positive comments, posted on all the vlogs so far by others, who, like me, get so much that is good from these. I don’t tend to post comments, preferring to give a thumbs up to each vlog……even before I’ve watched them. However I just wanted to say how much I’ve been looking forward to your Canadian travels….here in the UK I’m afraid that there’s very little shown of Canada….it’s mostly about your neighbours down south. Having reached this first vlog showing Canada, I feel that I am about to sit and enjoy a feast….thank you from Shropshire, UK.
Love it when city dwellers seek out the wilderness on the pretense of seeking tranquility and bring all their noise and loud music with them. Assinine.

Another reason to lock a trailer even if there's no neighbors is wild life, and Bears have opened doors with pull handles in search of food which is why you never leave food stuffs out inside or in the garbage since it's why they often come around a campsite. Having a walking stick along on a hike is a good idea because it helps you brake when your heading down hill or assist going up one and what might be underfoot gets signaled which hopefully lets them get clear of ones feet/legs. Indeed there are collapsing versions just for backpacking and even a nice sturdy branch you've picked up serves almost as well plus it's natural grain/curve is quite resilient. Sometimes having a pair of trekking poles actually lets you go a bit further since your arms assist with moving your weight/cargo instead of just letting them swing at your sides in rhythm with your legs. I totally agree about being in nature. We were recently at Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico and there was a wonderful riparian area in the middle. We just sat and listened for nearly 30 minutes, witnessing a mule deer feeding, a violet green swallow feeding its young and countless other birds and bugs. My phone registered a background sound of only 40db until the wind blew. Back home it reads double that and higher when all the noisy cars and Harley's go by, and I live in the suburbs! %^$@# Everybody needs to experience total quiet at least once in their lives, and then really stop, turn your frigging phone off and LISTEN.
